MLS Soccer Betting: Seattle vs Dallas
Friday, June 12th, 2015By Ej Garr
MLS Odds: Seattle and Dallas meet for the second time in the regular season, and it will be the final time they meet this year, barring a playoff match-up in November. Dallas finds themselves tied with Portland for fourth in the Western Conference standings, each having 22 points and six wins this season, although Dallas has a game in hand. They have only scored a single goal in their last four outings, which has resulted in two 0 - 0 draws against the NY Red Bulls and San Jose Earthquakes, and two losses to Montreal and Kansas City.
In their most recent outing against San Jose last weekend, Dallas sent off a player with a red card, which has become an all too familiar scene for the team in 2015. Je-Vaughn Watson was given a straight red in the 75th minute, but San Jose also had two men sent off with red cards in the game.
No one could crack the score board in the 0 - 0 draw. Dallas only had two shots on frame, while they limited the Quakes to a single shot on goal at Avaya Stadium.
Seattle is 5 - 1 - 1 at home this season and have earned 13 of a possible 15 points in their last five outings at CenturyLink Field. With a depleted lineup last weekend, the Sounders lost a 1 - 0 battle in Sporting Park, without the services of both Clint Dempsey and Obafemi Martins up front.
Sounders coach Sigi Schmid went with a 4 - 2 - 3 - 1 lineup, leaving Lamar Neagle alone up front, with Roldan, Rose and Pappa in the midfield. The Sounders suffered the loss when Kansas City's Benny Felhaber converted a penalty kick in the 84th minute. He was given the opportunity when goal keeper Stefan Frei and Dom Dwyer collided on a 50/50 ball in the box that Frei had every right to go after. The ref saw the play differently, and awarded Sporting a chance from the spot.
Both Seattle and Dallas will be playing in the fourth round of the U.S Open Cup onJune 16. Seattle will be hosting Portland at CenturyLink Field in a Cascade rivalry game, and Dallas will be hosting the Oklahoma City Energy at Toyota Stadium.

Quick Analysis & Prediction
As is with every MLS team that is playing this weekend besides Montreal, these two will also only have a few days to prepare for their U.S Cup matcheson Tuesday.
Chad Barrett is likely out for Seattle, although Martins is back to practice this week after surgery to his nose. He did not wear any protective head gear this week, and is not likely to sport any type of shield in the match. Coach Schmid said in the weekly presser that Martins might see limited minutes in this weekend's game.
Clint Dempsey is back after the birth of his child, but it is now Dallas who is dealing with some significant absences.
Obviously Vaughn is out with the red card last weekend for Dallas, but Akindele is also away on international duty. Moises Hernandez and Atiba Harris are likely out with their nations who are playing in World Cup qualifying and the Copa America.
Remember that the first meeting these two played this season was the first MLS game without a single shot on goal registered. Naturally the game ended 0 - 0, although Martins and Dempsey were not involved at all.
With the expectation of both Dempsey and Martins in the lineup, and the fact that CenturyLink Field gets some of the best home support in the league, we will offer the -110 action on the 3-Way Seattle line, expecting them to take all three points in this one.
