MLS Soccer Betting - Seattle Sounders vs Colorado Rapids
Friday, October 3rd, 2014By Ej Garr
MLS Odds:Seattle sits tied with the LA Galaxy for the top spot in the Western Conference with 4 matches left to play in the regular season. With two head-to-head meeting to end the season, they will both be in control of their own fate for home field advantage in the playoffs
Colorado sits 8 points back of the 5th, and final, available post season spot in the Western Conference. With 12 points still available with 4 matches to go, all hope is not lost. One win in their last 14 matches really does not give them good odds to go 4 - 0 to finish the year and grab all 12 of those points that they surely will need. They also have to hope Portland and/or Vancouver completely fall apart on their end.

Quick Analysis & Prediction
Clint Dempsey and Obafemi Martins (September's MLS Player of the Month) is arguably the most dangerous striker duo in the MLS, and that does not even cover the whole offensive minded Midfield that supports them.
Neagle, Alonso and Pappa feed off the aggression of Dempsey and Martins and suffice to say when this offense is clicking, there is not a more dangerous team in the league.
Colorado finds themselves in the position they are in as a direct result of their defense. 54 GA in 30 matches and as mentioned having only win in their last 14 outings, it is safe to say that Seattle is going to eat this Rapid team alive.
Seattle has got to take advantage of this opportunity with their remaining schedule against Vancouver and having a home and home with LA left after this match.
Why the line setters are offering such a tremendous price, on a Sounder's team vying for the top spot in the West vs a Rapid team going entirely in the wrong, direction is beyond me!
But this is why they play games as they say, and maybe Vegas knows something we don't. So, this is one of those golden opportunities to take advantage of what I like to call a 'safety net'.
Yes, there is value in Seattle to take this game with the +155 price, but at the same token, getting even money on the draw-no-bet Pk to settle for a push in case of a draw is also a viable option. Seattle might get caught in the proverbial trap game knowing what is ahead of them, but it is hard to think Colorado can run with Seattle for 90 minutes and get any type of result in a must win situation. With that said, they were in a must win situation a month ago so what will make today any different? Not enough for me! Take Seattle Pk @ +100 in case of a draw. There is nothing wrong with settling for a push when the price is fair enough!
