MLS Odds: San Jose and Dallas lock horns for the first time since their opening day outing at Toyota Stadium, when Dallas took three points from San Jose, in a 1 - 0 home win.Blas Perez scored the Dallas goal in extra time, of an evenly played game to get their respective seasons started.

The win for Dallas eventually led to a three-game win streak and a 10th point coming from a draw in the Western Conference standings. This was good enough for first place for the first month of 2015.Dallas then lost two straight games to start the month of April, and has now again lost two straight outings for the second time this year, but it’s still good enough to be among the three-team pack with 21 points in third place in the West.

On the current two game skid for Dallas they were outscored 6 - 1 in two road games, with a 2 - 1 loss to the Impact, and is leading into this game after a 4 - 0 loss to Kansas City at Sporting Park. Dallas was down 1 - 0 when a second yellow card was given to Zach Loyd, coming 10 minutes apart from the first one and leaving Dallas to play the entire second half a man down. Kansas City scored three goals in the second stanza, and Dallas was left to revel in their current two-game slide.

This will be the third of five straight road games for Dallas, and the trip so far is not going according to plan.

The Earthquakes return to Avaya Stadium on the heels of a 3 - 1 loss to Toronto at BMO Field. In August of last season, the last time Dallas paid a visit to San Jose, they handed them a 5 - 0 thrashing.

The Quakes were riding a five-game streak without a loss entering the Toronto game, and now finds themselves sitting in the 8th spot in the Western Conference standings with 18 points.

The 3 - 1 loss to Toronto last weekend only saw a goal scored from a Wondolowski penalty kick that came at the 24 minute mark, just two minutes after Toronto had taken their own 1 - 0 lead. The Quakes surrendered a second goal before halftime, and were badly outplayed in second half, letting in a third goal, while not putting a single shot on target.

    Quick Analysis & Prediction

    Quick Analysis:

Despite San Jose sitting in the eighth spot with 18 points in the West standings, a big home win can pull them right in the mix of the group with 21 points that includes this Dallas team, Los Angeles and Sporting KC.

With Dallas already taking the first meeting, and the heads-up factor involved in tie-breaking scenarios at the end of the year, San Jose needs a win at home to both stay in the Conference race and keep Dallas in a nose dive on this long road trip.

There is certainly some value in a home win here for the Quakes from a betting stand point as well, so let's see what prediction is offered to end the weekend at Avaya Stadium.

    Prediction:

    You guessed it.

That +140 on the home side 3-Way line is too irresistible to let go by, and we do expect the Quakes to improve on their 3 - 1 - 1 home record, although remember that one of those home games was a draw at Levi's Stadium, not here at Avaya.

San Jose at +140 to take the three points over Dallas is the suggested offer to end the weekend with a bang.
