MLS Soccer Betting: Real Salt Lake vs Dallas
Friday, October 16th, 2015By Ej Garr
MLS Odds: After a big 2 - 0 win over the Vancouver Whitecapson Wednesday, FC Dallas brought themselves closer to clinching home field throughout the playoffs for the first time since 2006. With a three-point lead on the Los Angeles Galaxy and only two games remaining in the regular season, Dallas holds all the cards as they take their last road trip this year to Utah before returning home to face San Jose on the final weekend onOctober 25.
To review what Dallas needs to do to maintain the top spot in the conference, a simple win would be all they need to secure home field through to the finals, with a possible first ever Supporters Shield still on the line.
Since they are tied with the Red Bulls with 54 points, the two will likely have it come down to the final weekend to decide which comes away with home field through the finals.
Dallas can still clinch home field should Sporting KC lose to San Jose on Friday, combined with a loss by the Galaxy to Portland on Sunday.
Dallas helped us all cash two tickets in their recent home and home series with Vancouver. We nailed the Dallas +0.5 handicap in the first meeting in the scoreless draw in Vancouver, while offering Dallas' 3-Way in their home outing last time out in which they took a 2 - 0 result to climb in to first place.
Dallas took the first and only other meeting between the teams this season with a 2 - 0 home win that came on August 29, and the Texas team has taken all but one of their 16 home contests against Salt Lake since 2005, holding a 13 - 1 - 2 record in Dallas. On the opposite side of the spectrum, Dallas has only one win in their last 11 trips to Utah, with their lone win coming in the 2012 season.
Salt Lake basically blew their last chance of staying in the playoff conversation with their 1 - 0 loss to Portland on Wednesday, although they are not 100% cut from the post-season just yet.
With Salt Lake being six points behind both Portland and Seattle with six points available from their last two outings, they will need multiple scenarios to happen in their favor to steal their way into the post-season. Salt Lake will face Seattle on the final day of the regular season at CenturyLink Field.
The loss for Salt Lake at home on Wednesday was a tough pill to swallow, as the only goal in the 1 - 0 affair came down to a red card and penalty kick conversion to give Portland the three points here at Rio Tinto Stadium.
Jamison Olave was sent off the field as a result of his foul in the box that had Luis Milano breaking in alone on Nick Rimando. Fernando Adi converted his chance from the spot, leaving Salt Lake down a man and goal for the duration of the contest.
Obviously Jamison Olave is suspended this weekend for Salt Lake as a result of the sending off.

Quick Analysis & Prediction
It is almost impossible to stare at the +120 Pk Draw no Bet price on Dallas here, knowing that they have the potential to get that much closer to securing home field throughout the Western Conference playoffs.
Real Salt Lake is desperate, and will need to throw the kitchen sink at Dallas if they plan on going 2 - 0 over the last two outings to keep themselves in the post-season conversation.
We see this as the final nail in the Salt Lake coffin, and there is no way on God's green Earth that we expect anything less than a result of some sort in favor of Dallas.
With the Dallas Pk sitting a +120, we will enjoy a lovely line that puts us in position to push our action on the ticket should they draw, and that is fine by us!
