MLS Soccer Betting: Real Salt Lake vs Colorado
Saturday, June 6th, 2015By Ej Garr
MLS Odds: Both Real Salt Lake and the Colorado Rapids look to shake two game losing streaks, as the two face off for the first time in the 2015 season. Salt Lake comes in mildly favored over the Rapids at Rio Tinto Stadium, looking to again hoist the Rocky Mountain Cup trophy for the eighth time in the last nine years. The two have played for the trophy since 2005, with RSL holding an overall 7 - 3 record in the 10 years thus far.
This is the first of three meetings for the teams that we see on the schedule, with each of the next two meetings to come at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Colorado,July 11 and October 4. The Colorado Rapids come into the game having only one win in their last eight outings and, a Western Conference worst, two wins overall this year.Their seven draws lead all of MLS in one-point outings as we pass the one-third mark of the season.
The Rapids were on their way to their eighth draw of the year last time out against Portland, having scored in the 89th minute to have a point in hand. Portland's Jack Jewsbury sealed the fate of the Rapids in the third minute of extra time, to give the Timbers a 2 - 1 win. The Rapids only managed two shots on goal, with the tally from SamCronin being one of them.
Salt Lake has been outscored 14 - 7 over their last 10 MLS outings, while only having two wins to show for their efforts over that stretch.
Salt Lake's Chris Schuler and Tony Beltran will be out for the team this weekend, as will Kyle Beckerman, who will be traveling with the U.S Men's National Team for the friendlies with the Netherlands and Germany this upcoming week.
Salt Lake's last two losses to the LA Galaxy and Vancouver Whitecaps were each one goal games, and they were certainly in the games enough to come close to drawing in each of them. They lost to LA 1 - 0 on a 7th minute penalty kick, playing toe to toe with the defending champs for the entire game.
The 2 - 1 loss to Vancouver was simply a tale of two halves. The first half was back and forth with a lot of action, each scoring once as they entered the halftime locker room 1 - 1. Vancouver outplayed RSL in the second half, scoring the deserved goal in the 79th minute, to take all three points.

Total O/U 2:
Quick Analysis & Prediction
The Line setters seem to be tipping their hand about how they feel about this total, setting the straight 2 at -145 to go Over.
Strangely, if they were so convinced that the two goals were coming to make us pay -145, then why wouldn't one move this line up and not settle for their juicy offer.
The both-teams-to-score prop is set at -115 at most sites and we are of the mindset that they will both indeed find the net at least once.
It is obvious that the third goal will make the difference in how we go about playing this total, and we do, in fact, see three goals being scored here.
Who could forget the final meeting last season, with the 5 - 1 smack down of Colorado right here at Rio Tinto Stadium? We don't forget, so hopefully the two will get up for a Rocky Mountain Cup trophy with both clubs having only a U.S Open Cup game on their schedules for the next two weeks to boot.
Move this total to the Over 2 and 2.5 handicap, and get close to even money on your action, so when we see that third goal find the net, the window will be waiting for us with open arms.
