MLS Soccer Betting: Philadelphia vs Chicago
Friday, August 14th, 2015By Ej Garr
MLS Odds: Fresh off their U.S Open Cup affair in which Philadelphia came away with a 1 - 0 win at PPL Park, the Fire and Union take to the field again this Sundayin MLS action. The Chicago Fire's road woes continued in the Cup match this pastWednesday, as the Fire have yet to take three points in any of their travels this season and are the last remaining team in MLS to have not won away from home.
Sebastian LeToux broke a scoreless deadlock in the 74th minute to earn the Union a trip back to the U.S Open Cup finals, a place they were in last season when they hosted the finals against Seattle. Seattle came away with the extra time victory last season, but the Union will again host the Championship Game onSeptember 30, and this year it will be against Sporting Kansas City.
Philadelphia and Chicago are separated by a single point at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings entering the weekend, but with double digit games left in the regular season, they are both only a handful of points out of the playoff picture. The Union are five points behind both Montreal and Orlando City who sit tied in the sixth position of the table.
With 13 losses and 40 goals allowed, Philadelphia leads all of MLS in both categories, while going winless in their last four league outings.
Chicago has been at the bottom of the Eastern Conference totem pole for most of the season, and just cannot seem to put a solid game together when they leave Toyota Park. In 10 road games this year, the Fire have earned three points from three draws and have lost seven contests. They will play seven of their final 12 games on the road including this outing, which could lead to the Fire's demise if they don't figure it out sooner than later.
Chicago has opened the month in strange fashion, as they defeated Dallas at home when the Texas side was in first place going for their team record sixth win, and then looked terrible against Portland last weekend in the 1 - 0 loss at Providence Park. Will the real Chicago Fire please stand up?!
Chicago has had the same issue since the beginning of the 2013 season, only winning twice in 17 road games last year, and only having six total wins away from home in almost three full seasons.

Quick Analysis & Prediction
What more can we analyze other than the fact that Chicago simply stinks away from home, no matter the competition or the stakes involved.
It took a late goal to separate the two teamson Wednesdayat PPL Park, and it may take the same to decide this game at PPL Park.
We have to simply offer a play on Philly at home here, and the +100 action with an even money return does not exactly knock anyone's socks off.
In fact, this is arguably the toughest call to make this weekend, because both teams have been entirely inconsistent this year, and are at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings for a reason.
With a minimum bet in place for this one, the Philadelphia 3-Way line at +100 goes on the board, but it is just a mild suggestion, so take it easy here with your hard earned money. There is no need to make any significant investment in this one.
