MLS Soccer Betting: Orlando City vs Colorado
Tuesday, June 23rd, 2015By Ej Garr
MLS Odds: Orlando City and Colorado enter their mid-week encounter at the Citrus Bowl, needing results for entirely different reasons. Colorado will be playing three away matches in the next eight days, having to travel to Kansas City this upcoming weekend, while stopping in Houston to take on the Dynamo in the U.S Open Cup round of 16 on June 30.
The Rapids enter the round of action still buried in the Western Conference basement, five points behind the pack after picking up their league-leading ninth draw of the season the last time out against Dallas. The Rapids had good ball movement and won the possession battle almost 60/40 in each half, while limiting the Dallas offense to zero shots on goal in the opening stanza.
It took an 88th minute goal from Dillon Serna to secure the point, after Dallas took a 1 - 0 lead in the 71st minute off the boot of Fabian Castillo.
Orlando City clings to the third position in the Eastern Conference standings alone with 20 points. They did win another possession battle this past weekend against Montreal, but were unable to find the net in a 2 - 0 loss to the Impact at Stade Saputo. Montreal put 18 shots towards the frame, managing to put five on goal in a relatively clean game, with each team only seeing a single booking a piece.
The Impact took a first half lead on the 36' mark, and sealed the deal with a 93rd minute extra time goal, to take a much needed three points
The Lions will also be hosting a U.S Open Cup round of 16 game against Columbusnext Wednesday, but will not have a weekend MLS match, giving them a week to prepare for the outing.
There are no overwhelming injuries to speak of that will change the lineup we expect to see for either side, as the Rapids havedefender Axel Sjoberg, midfielder Juan Ramiez, and Vicente Sanchez on the injury report.
Orlando City has three midfielders out for this game, as we know Kevin Molino is done for the season with the ACL injury, while Martin Paterson will be joining Tony Cascio on the sidelines for a spell.

Quick Analysis & Prediction
As we mentioned, the only experience these two have with each other is two U.S Open Cup meetings, which took place when Orlando City was still with the USL and the roster looked nothing like it does today.
Colorado's lack of a big time play maker, outside of Gabe Torres who has four tallies on the season, is starting to bring the realization that Colorado might need to make some changes during the summer transfer window.
It will take more than the removal of Coach Pablo Mastroeni's mustache to change the dynamic in camp.
Could the Rapids pull off a tenth draw as we approach the halfway point of the season?
The -110 on the +0.5 handicap line with the away side seems like a reasonable suggestion to make, knowing that they have the ability to, at worst, find points, despite settling for too many draws thus far.
With the expectation of a draw or win for the Rapids, the +0.5 handicap goes in as our suggestion for this match. Let it be 1 - 1 if they must, because that will certainly work in our favor.
