MLS Soccer Betting: Los Angeles vs Vancouver
Thursday, April 2nd, 2015By Ej Garr
MLS Odds: The Los Angeles Galaxy will make their first and only trip to Canada this year, when they head to BC Place to take on the Whitecaps, who have won three straight after losing their home opener.
The Galaxy comes off a lackluster performance last weekend, although they were without some big names that were out of the lineup for international duty. They looked to have a point in hand against DC United in a scoreless draw until Chris Pontius found the net with just seconds remaining in extra time to send the Galaxy out of the nation's capital with their first loss of the season. However, you would know that we called for that, if you took the time to read our previews on a weekly basis.
We said that we did not expect to see goals and threw down a play on DC at +120, taking home the funds that came with it.
Vancouver has done a great job rebounding from their opening day home defeat to rival Toronto, and has now reeled off three straight wins to find themselves a point away from the top spot in the Western Conference standings.
They certainly got a battle from Portland last weekend, which came down to a 90th minute goal from Earnshaw to break a 1 - 1 tie as time wound down. The Whitecaps took an early 1 - 0 lead 15 minutes into the match, and the Timbers appeared to have salvaged a draw when Adi scored in the 82nd minute of regulation time.
The Galaxy are 4 - 0 - 1 in the last five meetings, and the Whitecaps have only taken one win in the 12 all-time meetings between the two teams.
With the Galaxy getting back Keane, Zardes and Peneda, they will certainly give the team a boost to get back on track, but Vancouver is not exactly going to be intimidated at home.
Last 12 MLS Meetings:
These two have played 12 times in MLS action, with LA leading the series with 9 wins, 1 loss and 2 draws.

Total O/U 2.5:
Quick Analysis & Prediction
Once again, as we said last weekend, the line setters are tipping their hand about how they see this game being played. The Under sits at -120, and LA is certainly favored, telling us they expect a 1 - 0 type of match, with the Galaxy coming away with three points in a low-scoring game.
Peneda and Ousted are seen as two of the better keepers in MLS, and we know why the line setters see this as a potential low-scoring match. Vancouver has held Chicago and Orlando City to clean sheets this season, but Los Angeles is not even remotely the same animal as those two.
It is time to go against the grain, as we have no problem doing once in a while when it is called for. This total at 2.5 is simply not the best option here, and with all hands on deck for LA even with Peneda back, Keane and Zardes will certainly have their influence on this match.
We are suggesting this Over 2.5 at even money, because we all know that just because the line setters see the game a certain way, and almost lead you in to play with the lines offered, there is still that hunch one gets from years of experience like we have around here.
We also see that first half Over 1 also at even money as an equal opportunity to expect at worst that single goal to push our action going in to the halftime locker room, so keep both options in mind.
