Beckham has been with the Galaxy for the past five seasons and even though he received some big offers to play elsewhere, Beckham said that he and his family like Los Angeles. "This was an important decision for me," Beckham said, "I had many offers from clubs from around the world, however, I'm still passionate about playing in America and winning trophies with the Galaxy. I've seen first hand how popular soccer is now in the States and I'm as committed as ever to growing the game here. My family and I are incredibly happy and settled in America and we look forward to spending many more years here."
The Galaxy were a very good team for MLS soccer betting gamblers as they won the most games in the league during the regular season and then they won their first MLS Cup since 2005 with Beckham being a big part of their success. It was his best season since joining the Galaxy as he teamed with Landon Donovan to give the Galaxy a potent one-two combination. "I am thrilled that David has chosen to re-join the Galaxy, especially as he had numerous options where he could continue his career," Galaxy general manager and head coach Bruce Arena said, “I felt that he was one of the best players in all of MLS last season and we could not have achieved the success that we did without him. We look forward to trying to replicate that success this season with David once again in a Galaxy uniform."
That Beckham resigned with the Galaxy came as a surprise to some people, especially since Beckham was reportedly offered $12 million a year to go to Paris St. Germain. If you listened to Beckham in the past year it shouldn’t have come as too big a shock. Beckham really likes the Los Angeles area and the team. He also is a major star in the city, in the league and he is getting some extra perks including participating in the summer Olympics where he could miss two months of the MLS season.
