MLS Soccer Betting: Dallas vs Real Salt Lake
Friday, August 28th, 2015By Ej Garr
MLS Odds: FC Dallas is hoping to shake off an ugly August that has resulted in three losses in three outings this month. With one last shot to earn three points at home before we move to September, Real Salt Lake will be looking to keep them building stats in the loss column for one more weekend at least.
Dallas has scored only one goal this month, and has gone 0 - 3 as a result with losses to Chicago, Los Angeles and Vancouver. They have watched the rest of the Western Conference start to gain ground and pull away from them, while holding on to the fifth spot in the standings with 38 points. Seattle and San Jose are within three points of Dallas now and, if they are not careful, we might see Dallas completely slip out of the chase if things don't change soon.
One thing we have noticed is that Dallas is doing a great job of winning the possession battle through this losing streak, but it is not amounting to enough shots on frame, while being held to a clean sheet in two of the three outings.
The September schedule will be no less daunting for Dallas, as they have four games in the month and three of them on the road. After a stop in Columbus, Dallas, they will return home to face expansion NYCFC, before departing for two games against Sporting KC and Los Angeles with the final five games of October left to play.
Atiba Harris is suspended this weekend for Dallas, due to yellow card accumulation, and Mauro Diaz is not expected back this weekend with tightness in his quad.
Salt Lake needed a big win last weekend to keep pace in the Western Conference, and got exactly that in a 2 - 0 defeat over struggling Seattle at Rio Tinto Stadium.
This is the first of a three-game road trip for Salt Lake, as they will make a stop in Houston after 14 days off, before sliding down to Mexico to face Santa Tecla in Champions League onSeptember 19.
These two will contest their third and final regular season meeting onOctober 17at Rio Tinto Stadium, which will leave them both with just one game left before the start of the playoffs.
Real Salt Lake has no suspension, and only has Chris Schuler on the injury report with ankle spurs that could see him out for longer than expected.

Quick Analysis & Prediction
Dallas certainly has the offense to snap out of this funk they are in, but when things start to go in a certain direction, it is not so easy to simply recognize the issues and fix it right away.
That stat of how Salt Lake struggles here in Dallas is a concern, because the action line on this board comes in the form of the +0.5 handicap line on the away side, with the +125 offer sitting there calling our names.
Pick me! Pick me!
Ok, we heard you, so we will take the chance on the +0.5 handicap line with Salt Lake at +125, as luckily all we need is a draw to happen to cash this ticket. If Salt Lake can end the ugly history here and win the match outright, that will be all the better, so we hope they at least score first to ease our stress level a bit.
