MLS Odds: The Columbus Crew and DC United find themselves in a battle for the home field advantage in the Eastern Conference semifinals, as the two face off at MAPFRE Stadium with the winner likely to secure the second position on #DecisionDay.

With all 20 teams wrapping up the regular season on the finalSundaybefore the playoffs begin, the only position in the Eastern Conference yet to be determined is the sixth and final entry position that will likely see New England as the 6 seed. With one point separating Columbus and DC United for the 2 seed, the two teams play the rubber game in the season series that has seen the previous two outings played at RFK Stadium.

United took the first contest in April with a 2 - 0 home win on the strength of two first half goals from Fabian Espindola and Sean Franklin.

The Crew took the second match at RFK with a 2 - 1 win aided by goals from Ethan Finlay and Kei Kamara, while United's Chris Rolfe converted a penalty kick accounting for the United goal in the 68th minute after going down 2 - 0 just minutes in to the second half from the Kamara goal.

DC United has gotten back on track with two straight wins as they enter the final weekend of the regular season, after a run of five outings without a win that brought a growing concern to the nation's capital.

United had the luxury of two home games against NYCFC and the Chicago Fire, and took 2 - 1 and 4 - 0 victories respectively to carry their two-game streak to the final game.

In their last six outings, the Crew have won three and lost three, and have lost their last two home games to Western Conference opponents. Dallas and Portland took three points from the Crew, leaving them with four home losses this year, but with a win at home, Columbus would equal their 9 - 4 - 4 home record they achieved in last year's season.

However, one huge problem the Crew faces, or should we say two, are the suspensions of Kei Kamara and Federico Higuain due to yellow card accumulation. With the hopes of home field in the semifinals, the absence of two of their most recognized players will surely not make it any easier, despite having the MAPFRE Stadium crowd behind them.

    Quick Analysis & Prediction

    Quick Analysis:

The absence of both Kamara and Higuain is certainly going to have its effects, as we know the two players have accounted for 30 of the teams 53 goals scored this year, and have had influence on plenty of the other 23 goals the team has managed.

However, the line setters do not seem to be affected by the omission of the two key players, and still offer a -105 line for the Crew to take three points on decision day.

We do not see it working out for Columbus, especially without Kamara, and we are suggesting that you make a play on that +0.5 handicap for DC United at -115.

United must take advantage of the situation, and also atone for such a poor finish to the regular season, despite carrying their modest two-game win streak in to the final outing of the year.

For those of you bold enough to seek some further value, the United Pk Draw no Bet option is listed at +200 or better for the road team, screaming with value in our opinion.
