MLS Odds: The New York Red Bulls look to extend their six-game unbeaten streakon Wednesday, when they visit Toyota Park to take on last place Chicago. The Red Bulls have been cruising towards the post-season with five wins and a draw in their last six league games, and it may seem even more surprising that they have done this with their defense.

The Bulls have only allowed three goals through their current run, and stretched their offense to find the net 15 times, easily giving them the best goal differential in the entire Eastern Conference at 38 GF and 25 GA.

With 10 days off to prepare for the mid-week match at Toyota Park, the Red Bulls are well rested and alone in second place in the East with 39 points, just five points behind DC United, who happens to be on deck for the New Yorkersthis Sunday. This is the first of three regular season meetings between New York and Chicago, as the two will face off again onSeptember 11, with the final game of the set coming on the last weekend of the year.

The last time we saw the Red Bulls on the field, it was against Toronto at home on August 15. Toronto tried to install a 4 - 3 - 3 alignment which simply did not go well. New York came away with a 3 - 0 home win over the Canadian side, and kept Bradley, Altidore and Giovinco off the score sheet, while they limited the Reds to only three shots on frame as a team.

Chicago is falling further away from their chance at the post-season, and despite only being five points out of the final playoff position in the Eastern Conference, they are simply not playing like a hungry team that wants more.

Between being knocked out of the U.S Cup this past week in the semifinals and their last three MLS games, the Fire has been held to a clean sheet in three of their last four outings. They also have only one point to show from a 3 - 3 draw in the rematch with Philadelphia who ousted the Fire from the Open Cup just days previously.

Last weekend, the Fire played almost the entire 90 minutes down a goal, as Colorado scored in the opening minute of action after a goal from Dillon Serna made it 1 - 0. No goals were scored from there, and Chicago was left to face their home fans with yet another poor outing that has kept the fire stuck on 23 points in the basement.

On the suspension and injury front, New York will be without Damien Perrinelle, who is suspended due to a committee decision. Joining Perrinelle on the sidelines will be defenders Ronald Zubar and Kemar Lawrence, and we know that Chris Duvall is out for a long duration after breaking his tibia in the U.S Open Cup win against the New York Cosmos, when he collided with Cosmos’ defender Hunter Gorskie.

Chicago only has Adailton on the injury report, and he will be absent this weekend from the back line with a groin injury that might see him miss even more time past this weekend.

    Quick Analysis & Prediction

    Quick Analysis:

The Fire has done well in recent times against New York, as they took the season series in 2014 with two wins and a draw in the three regular season meetings.

Chicago will kick off a three-game road trip after this mid-week affair, as they head to the Citrus Bowl this weekend and fly up to Canada to face Montreal next weekend before making their only visit to Red Bull Arena as mentioned onSeptember 11.

New York will only have three days to prepare for a first place battle with DC United at homethis Sunday, although they will not likely overlook the importance of taking three points from the team at the bottom of the conference standings this weekend.

Although it is a bit of a stiff line, the -135 on the Red Bulls Pk Draw no Bet action seems like a realistic option because Chicago can be tough at home, despite being seen at the bottom of the entire MLS with 23 points.

The expectation that the Red Bulls will hope to get this match started quickly to take three important points, should see them come out strong and with pace to not give Chicago and their fans a chance to get in the match.

The Pk action at -135 on the Red Bulls makes the board in the mid-week encounter at Toyota Park.
