MLS Soccer Betting: Chicago vs DC United
Tuesday, June 23rd, 2015By Ej Garr
MLS Odds: DC United will play their next five games away from RFK Stadium and the trip kicks off with a stop in Chicago to face the Fire at Toyota Park on Wednesday. The Capitol club will start the trip in Chicago, and will only have two days off as they make their way to Canada to face Toronto at BMO Field this weekend. After a stop at PPL Park to face Philadelphia in the U.S Open Cup onJune 30, they will begin July with a stop in Seattle and Dallas before returning home onJuly 26for a rematch of the U.S Cup encounter with Philly in MLS action.
After two straight losses, DC United got back on track this past weekend with a 2 - 1 win over struggling New England. The Revs got on the board first in the 10th minute of the game, but Chris Rolfe's brace in the second half carried the first place team to victory, while stretching their Eastern Conference lead back to seven points.
The Chicago Fire has certainly struggled since the calendar turned to June. They have been losers of all three MLS outings, while barely escaping a Louisville City club in U.S Open Cup action this past week that took 116 minutes to find the game winner.
Chicago will again escape an MLS opponent in their U.S Cup run, and will host the Charlotte Independence in the round of 16 onJune 30. The Charlotte club is in eighth place in USL East Division, and has only gained 15 points through 11 outings, which will likely put the Fire as distinct favorites to advance to the quarterfinals or the tournament.
The Fire cannot afford to look ahead to anything, as last place in the Eastern Conference is now theirs alone, although the 14 points they have earned does not see them that far from the pack. They are only three points behind five teams that top out with a 4-team group at 17 points, so time is still on their side, but the results need to start soon.

Quick Analysis & Prediction
The line setters are making this one a bit too easy, and we certainly see a spot for a handicap play on United away from home.
Chicago is simply not playing well and, as we mentioned, have not won a game in the month of June, outside of a 1 - 0 win over a USL opponent in the U.S Open Cup that took 116 minutes to earn.
DC United has managed to draw or beat Chicago in the last four outings, including a 3 - 1 win to kick off the month of June, that started this downfall for the Fire to begin with.
The final meeting between the teams in the season series will come on the next to last game of the regular season, back at RFK Stadium on October 18.
We will hop on the first place team's back here, and expect DC United to come away with some type of result. The +0.5 handicap line at -110 on the action, seems more than fair to us, simply because we are not of the belief that Chicago has enough fire power to get the ball past United GK Bill Hamid.
We expect a low-scoring game, but since the Fire's defense has surrendered eight goals in the last three outings, which started with the three-goal outing against this exact United club, the best recommendation we can consider here is to see United come away with any type of result, being that the draw, or a win, would be all we need to cash our tickets.
