MLS Soccer Betting at BetDSI: Vancouver vs Colorado
Friday, May 22nd, 2015By Ej Garr
MLS Odds: Vancouver and Colorado face off for the first of three regular season meetings in 2015. The Whitecaps will be traveling quite a bit over the next two months of the season, playing six of their next seven games away from home. After this game with Colorado, they will return home to face Real Salt Lake, and head out for a five-game road trip. The Caps will be making stops at Montreal, Los Angeles, New York, and New England, before coming right back here to Dick's Sporting Goods Park to complete the road trip.
Vancouver is coming off a disappointing result against Seattle last time out in league play. However, they did manage to advance to Amway Canadian Championship Finalson Wednesday. The Caps defeated Edmonton 2 - 1 at Clarke Stadium in Edmonton, and will now face Montreal in the home and home series that will take place in August. The first leg will be at Stade Saputo in Montrealon August 12, and the return leg will be played onAugust 25at BC Place.
Vancouver has struggled recently in MLS action, only finding one win in their last four outings, but they still find themselves only a point back of Dallas for the top spot in the Western Conference standings.
In their Cascadia Cup match with Seattle this past weekend, the Caps seemed to have an advantage with Obafemi Martins out of the lineup, but his replacement Chad Barrett scored both goals against them in the 2 - 0 loss. They were the only two official shots on goal for Seattle, but obviously, they were both good ones.
Colorado must have a nice supply of pencils in their locker room, because the only thing they can manage to do is draw this season. With only one win and seven draws, the 10 points find them alone in the Western Conference basement. Although a draw can be seen as a good thing when playing on the road, the Rapids have yet to win a home game in 2015 in five tries.
The Rapids have been off since May 8, after the cancellation of their game last weekend against Kansas City. One good thing that might have come from that postponement, was the fact that it will give Graham Zusi and Roger Espinoza an extra week to get healthy. Seth Sinovic, who was a late scratch after picking up an injury during warmups, is also likely to return in time, as we only see one Rapids name on the official injury report, Marcelo Sarvas, who will be out for a few more weeks after knee surgery.
On paper, the Rapids dominated the San Jose game last weekend, although they did indeed end up settling for their fourth straight 1 - 1 draw. They booted 18 shot attempts, with six of them being on frame, keeping the Earthquake GK David Bingham busy most of the night.

Quick Analysis & Prediction
Might we see a fifth straight draw for the Rapids?
It is hard to imagine that a team could play to five straight 1 - 1 draws, and we honestly do not see that result coming in this one.
Colorado has had two weeks off essentially after the PPD game, so they are the well-rested of the two teams. As we mentioned, it was enough time to likely see Zusi and Espinoza back in the starting XI.
The prediction for this one is Colorado 2 - Vancouver 1, with the Rapids finally picking up their first home win of the season, while snapping the recent run of draws.
Two lovely prices come with that prediction, as the +145 on the 3-Way line with Colorado goes as the side play, with the +115 on the Over 2.5 with the total.
