MLS Odds: With only three points separating San Jose and Seattle, the playoffs essentially start today with this big head-to-head meeting at Avaya Stadium. San Jose has had the better of the recent exchanges, and have already won the season series with two wins in the two meetings this season, which is even more impressive since those wins came in Seattle.

The Earthquakes have certainly made up for the July debacles that caused them to fall as far as eighth in the Western Conference standings, but they still remain in the seventh position outside of the playoff picture by a mere three points.

Despite having their four-game win streak snapped last weekend by the Philadelphia Union at home, San Jose has still only allowed eight goals in their 12 home games this season, leading the Western Conference in goals allowed on the home side of their ledger.

San Jose is in the midst of a four-game home stand, which started with a win over Los Angeles and the aforementioned loss to Philly last weekend. They will actually be hosting seven out of eight games as a whole, before wrapping up the regular season in Dallas onOctober 25.

Seattle finally has most of their roster in place, as Clint Dempsey and Obafemi Martins finally played side-by-side last weekend, while both found the back of the net in their 2 - 1 win over Toronto last weekend at CenturyLink Field.

Obafemi scored once again early in the game, as he has on many occasions this season, finding the net in the sixth minute of the affair against the Reds. He was undoubtedly offsides when he took the pass from Dempsey, but home cookin' is good sometimes as Martins was not called for the infraction.

Toronto pulled the game level just before the hour mark in the second half, as a header opportunity from former Sounder Eriq Zavaleta found the back of the net. Clint Dempsey scored the game-winning goal in the 77th minute after Martins broke in alone on Chris Konopka as a result of a defensive lapse in the offensive half for Toronto. Martins put the ball out too far in front of himself, and Konopka came out to make a save, but put the ball right at Dempsey's feet who lofted the ball in the back of the net to secure three points for Sounders.

    Quick Analysis & Prediction

    Quick Analysis:

Even though we know that San Jose's defense is their strength, there is no possible way they are going to hold down Seattle for 90 minutes with the Sounders finally healthy, finally able to put the team they want on the field for Sigi Schmid's squad.

San Jose knows what it takes to beat Seattle, and they have owned the recent series while going for a season sweep of the Sounders this weekend.

Bet on the MLS at BetDSI

There will be no sweep and there will be no home field celebration, and we are calling for Seattle to win this match 2 - 1.

We can actually offer the Seattle Pk Draw no Bet action at +135 instead of chasing the 3-Way line, so in case the draw comes, we still have a plus-money play on the board, with the draw not hurting us a bit.

In addition, the Over 2.5 at -105 is another gift we offer to our readers this weekend, so the Pk action on Seattle at +135 and the Over 2.5 at -105 makes this a two-pack of bets on the match at Avaya Stadium.
