MLS Soccer Betting at BetDSI: Philadelphia vs Seattle
Tuesday, June 23rd, 2015By Ej Garr
MLS Odds: The Philadelphia Union plays host to the Seattle Sounders in a mid-week MLS battle, marking a rematch of the U.S Open Cup Final from just a year ago, right here at PPL Park. The Sounders took a 3 - 1 U.S Open Cup finals win over the Union in 2014, after regulation time could not decide a winner. The Sounders scored two extra time goals and clinched their fourth Lamar Hunt title, leaving the Union and their fans still in search of their first-ever piece of hardware as an organization.
The Sounders will not be earning their fifth U.S Open Cup this year after being knocked out of the competition by the Tiimbers last week, and the fallout from the game has directly affected the immediate future in Seattle.
Not only did Obafemi Martins get carted off the field and is likely out for the next month at best, but Clint Dempsey had another personal meltdown that we spoke of in this past weekend's preview, in their game with the Earthquakes.
It is well documented, that Dempsey will be sitting out for two more games, after serving his first of a three-match ban against San Jose this past weekend, that stemmed from his antics with the referee in the U.S Open Cup outing. The Vancouver Whitecaps pulled within a tie of first place in the Western Conference standings with Seattle this weekend, after the combination of the Sounders loss to the Quakes and the Caps win over the Red Bulls in New York.
Luckily, we took advantage of the situation in Seattle last weekend and cashed a lovely ticket with the Quakes at +300, if even the +1 handicap at -125, quite easily as well.
A rematch with the Portland Timbers in Oregon, will round out the five-game,16-day trip.
The Philadelphia Union comes in to the match after simply getting their ass handed to them by the Galaxy this weekend, reverting back to the team that could not stop a soul early in the year, adding to their league leading 30 goals allowed this season.
The Union kicks off their own five-game home stand this week, as they will host Seattle and Montreal in MLS action, while also playing host to DC United in the U.S Open Cup onJune 30. They will finish the home stand with a visit from the Portland Timbers, and round it out with a friendly against newly promoted Bournemouth of the English Premier League.

Quick Analysis & Prediction
Seattle's Chad Barrett will be out the lineup, and will obviously also be without Dempsey and Martins.
Philadelphia may not be very good, but the Seattle team we will see will not be much better, so there is only one decision to make, as far as our prediction goes.
Seattle is certainly not making anyone's suggestion box right now, and we already took advantage of their depleted lineup against San Jose.
Philadelphia doesn't exactly come in with a strong lineup upfront either, as Fernando Aristeguieta, and Sebastien Le Toux will join Conor Casey on the bench for the Union.
We are suggesting the Under 2.5 at -115, with not much expected on the offensive side of the ball for either club and makeshift lineups taking the field on both sides of the field.
