MLS Soccer Betting at BetDSI: Orlando City vs Portland
Friday, April 10th, 2015By Ej Garr
MLS Odds: Orlando City makes their first ever trip to Providence Park to take on the Portland Timbers in the only meeting the two will have in 2015. The match will take place at2 p.m.Pacific time. Portland will hope, once again, to use their home fans to their advantage. The Timbers look to sell out Providence Park for the 72nd consecutive time in the regular season, and most likely will accomplish it.
The fans have welcomed and supported this team since they were brought in to existence, well before being awarded an expansion franchise in MLS in 2011. The Timbers have taken a result in the last seven outings at home, with a 4 - 0 - 3 record that dates back to the end of the 2014 season, which includes two draws and win in 2015.
Orlando City has been helping live bettors profit from their late goals. Time and time again we have seen a goal being scored as the time winds down or in extra time. We saw it yet again this past weekend, when DC United found the net off Luis Silva's boot in the 91st minute, so keep a close eye on that as the season goes on.
Orlando City keeper Donovan Ricketts returns to Portland after making 73 regular season starts for the team. He was selected first overall by Orlando in the 2015 expansion draft. Nine different players on the Timbers roster have a point to their credit, leading the league just ahead of Toronto, who has eight players who have found the score sheet in some manner.
Portland comes off a convincing victory over Dallas 3 - 1, when at the time Dallas was in first place in the Western Conference. Three different goal scorers contributed to the effort with one from each portion of the 4 - 4- 2 line up Portland play with. Defender Nat Borchers scored the first goal, with forward Maximiliano Urruti and midfielder Diego Chara all finding the back of the net last weekend

Quick Analysis & Prediction
It is expected that Donovan Ricketts will be motivated to return to Portland and play his best game of the year, having spent the last three seasons with the team. In the only two away games Orlando City has had in 2015, they have a win and a draw, accounting for four of their five points this year, and as we mentioned, late goals seem to be the story with this expansion franchise so far. In three of their five outings this year we have seen a goal scored at or past the 90 minute mark of the match.
The anchor of the Portland Timbers team has been their defense, so hopefully they step up and come up with another performance against expansion Orlando City.
We don't expect one of those late goals to come in this one, as it is also likely to rain throughout the match, from what we are seeing in the forecast thus far.
We are suggesting this Under 2.5, with the marginal -125 listed on the action, expecting a likely 1 - 0 type of match with Portland coming out as the victor, but the -140 on the action is just outside of our comfort zone for making that suggestion. We are not ones to suggest draws too often, but we could understand why one would might come up with that hypothesis for this match.
