MLS Soccer Betting at BetDSI: Orlando City vs DC United
Friday, June 12th, 2015By Ej Garr
MLS Odds: DC United will attempt to sweep the season series from expansion Orlando City, while also looking to stretch their seven-point lead atop the Eastern Conference standings. DC United spoiled the third attempt for Orlando City at the Citrus Bowl, while the newcomers to MLS were still seeking their first home win of 2015.United again defeated Orlando City 2 - 1 at RFK Stadium on May 13, although the Lions did indeed get that first home win the following weekend against the defending champion LA Galaxy.
DC United will be playing three games over the next eight days. They will travel from Florida to play Pittsburgh in their U.S Open Cup fourth round game on Wednesday, June 17 and then return home to face New England at RFK onJune 21. DC United got the big news this week that their stadium proposal was approved, and DCU Stadium at Buzzard Point is a now a go.
The hearing by the DC Council Board was originally slated forJune 26, but the agreement was reached this week. DC Mayor Muriel Bowser hosted the announcement ceremonyon Wednesday, with the expectation of having the project complete in time for the beginning of the 2018 MLS season.
Orlando City is also in the midst of getting their own stadium in downtown Orlando that will open soon and, with the realization that fans are coming out in support of the team, they are actually already thinking about expanding the seating arrangements. Orlando City leads all of MLS in attendance in 2015.
On the field, Orlando City has quietly pulled themselves to 17 points in the Eastern Conference standings, tied with the NY Red Bulls for the 4th position in the table entering the weekend. With eight points coming from two wins and two draws in their last four outings, the Lions have proven so far that they are not to be taken lightly in their first year in top flight U.S soccer.
They have controlled the possession battle in each of their 14 games this year, many of which by a 2/1 margin, as they again did this past weekend against Chicago in the 3 - 2 win.
In an ironic twist of fate, the win over Chicago came as a result of the Fire scoring four of the five goals in the game. Two of the goals were counted as own goals by Fire defenderAdailton, as we highlighted in the Chicago preview with New England this weekend.
The first own goal from Adailton, tied the match at one in the 40th minute of the first half. The unfortunate second own goal, clinched the 3 - 2 win for the Lions, in the 86th minute of the game.

Quick Analysis & Prediction
Goal scoring is certainly the name of the game lately when Orlando City takes to the field, although the first time the two met here earlier in the year, it took a 91st-minute goal to decide a 1 - 0 game.
We do not see this match going in that same direction this time out, as Orlando City still only has one win for their efforts at the Citrus Bowl, in seven games played there so far.
Not to mention that Orlando City will probably be even more conscious of the fact that they are on the verge of being swept by United, while hosting two of the three games played between the two this year.
A play on this total was given as our play of the week on the Get More Sports World Tour Soccer Podcast, so we will offer the play here at Diamond as well.
We are seeing goals abound for both clubs lately, and we can only expect that to continue this weekend, so the Over 2.5 at a marginal -115 is the play we suggest to wrap up this weekend's MLS action.
