MLS Odds:The New York Red Bulls still have the potential for the 3rd spot in the Eastern Conference Playoffs. They will need these 3 points and a Columbus loss to Philadelphia for it to happen though, so there is nothing easy about it. They will know before the match starts what they need to do, but they will still be a playoff team no matter how this weekend transpires.

Kansas City lost to Philadelphia last weekend, which now puts them in this position where they could fall as far as the 5th and final spot if they lose to NY and Columbus wins as well.

They could be in contention for the 2nd spot had they taken even a single point last weekend, so that makes this match that much bigger.

    Quick Analysis & Prediction

    Quick Analysis:

This match will be the last in the regular season, and so much movement in the Eastern Conference can go on during the finalSundayof the year. We do not know the result of the Columbus match with Philly yet, but these two teams will indeed know what is at stake when they kickoff.

We will need to play the IF game again for the betting side of this match.

Tie Breaking Procedures: Wins; Goal Differential; Goals Scored.

So let's break down what we can play here:

IF: Columbus wins vs Philly, they will sit with 52 points and have the 3rd place spot until this game starts. Kansas City holds all the cards as far as tie breakers go, so if they win this match, they control their own destiny for that same 3rd spot no matter if Columbus win or not.

IF: Columbus does not get a point vs Philly with at least a draw, New York will be able to pass both KC and Columbus and steal the 3rd spot.

IF: Columbus does Draw with Philly, New York can do no better than 4th, due to the goal differential which Columbus leads if they are tied with wins.

All of these ifs don’t matter to me. I will simply take this Over 2.5 with Marginal Juice because they both want these 3 points no matter what Columbus does.
