MLS Soccer Betting at BetDSI: New York Red Bulls vs DC United
Friday, April 10th, 2015By Ej Garr
MLS Odds: The Red Bulls and DC United revisit their rivalry, with their second meeting in the early season taking place at RFK Stadium this weekend. With first place on the line in the Eastern Conference standings, DC United looks to atone for their first and only loss in 2015, when the Red Bulls took a 2 - 0 victory in New York on March 23.
The Red Bulls are joined by Real Salt Lake as the only two remaining teams to have not suffered a loss in 2015. Many experts and media outlets thought the losses of Thierry Henry and Tim Cahill would set the Red Bulls back, having to replace two international stars who have helped their countries appear in World Cup appearances, but the Red Bulls have not shown that they are any less for wear so far in the early going.
Mike Grella helped to make Red Bulls history the last time out against Columbus by scoring the 1,000th goal in team history. The Red Bulls are the fifth club to reach that mark, following the LA Galaxy, D.C. United, FC Dallas, and Crew SC. This miraculous feat also added Grella’s name to a long list of legends who have played for the franchise.
In the meantime, Bill Hamid has been trying to make his own history for DC United, as the goalkeeper has kept three clean sheets in four outings this season. They essentially carried over their defensive prowess from last year, when they were tied with the league lead in goals allowed in 2014.
Last weekend, in the match with Orlando City there was yet another goal scored in extra time this year, which seems to be the common story all around MLS this year. The United's Luis Silva snatched the victory from United in the first minute after the 90 mark, in a game that saw an even possession battle and 38 shots offered between the two teams.

Quick Analysis & Prediction
Now that Silva is back in the DC United lineup, he obviously presents problems for any back line to contain.
We know that the Red Bulls love to press, and have the ability to play at a high level for 90 minutes, which we saw when they competed against Columbus, and again their last time out when they found the net twice in each encounter.
The Red Bulls have scored in each of the three games, while United was only held scoreless once this season, which came against this same Red Bulls squad as we mentioned.
Even though we know Hamid is one of, if not the, best GK in all of MLS, United will surely keep 9 to 10 guys behind the ball with hopes to counter attack at every opportunity possible. If they do this, they should be able to have moderate success against the Red Bull back line.
We will see if yet another Over suggestion for this game is the way to go here, especially if we expect Wright-Phillips and Sam to continue their efforts in finding the net, with Dax McCarty and Sacha Kljestan providing midfield presence in their attacking style. As a result, the Over 2.5 at a reasonable even money offer goes in as our suggestion for this one.
