MLS Soccer Betting at BetDSI: New York Red Bulls vs Dallas
Thursday, May 14th, 2015By Ej Garr
MLS Odds: Two original MLS clubs make their annual appearance against each other, as Dallas hosts the Red Bulls at Toyota Stadiumon Fridaynight. Amazingly, with the history between these two -- 19 years each invested in the league -- it has never lead to a championship for either team. Even more shocking is the fact that each team has only appeared in one final over the 19 seasons in MLS and both teams lost their encounters.
New York had a great chance to pull off a second appearance last year, but New England got in their way in the Eastern conference semi's, en route to the 2014 finals with Los Angeles.
By now, New York has put that behind them and carried on quite well without the likes of Henry and Cahill, who were seen as big losses. The Red Bulls are trying to come down from their emotional win against the other New York side last weekend, in what turned into a big match by the NY media. Both New York clubs needed wins regardless if it was a derby, as the Red Bulls had only two points to show for their last three outings before the game, relinquished their first place tie in the East and went back to third entering the weekend.
Dallas is certainly back on track, and the big win over Los Angeles last weekend was impressive. Down 1 - 0 after the Zardes’ goal for LA just before the hour mark, Dallas found two goals in nine minutes from Blas Perez and Tisho Akindele to earn three points. The Perez goal tied the match at one on the 77th minute, and with only four minutes remaining in regulation time, Akindele took a feed from Mauro Diaz to send the back to the back of the net for the win.
It should be noted that Dallas starts a nasty little five game roadie after this match as we progress over the next month. Be aware that Dallas has to go to Canada first to face Montreal then travel to Kansas City. Next stop is Avaya Stadium in San Jose, California, while visiting lovely Seattle Washington afterwards. Denver, Colorado is the last stop before coming home again onJune 26, so at least keep it in the back of your mind.

Quick Analysis & Prediction
This is another incident of catching the line setters asleep at the wheel, because how they can offer this Over 2.5 at such a reasonable -105 is the question. They have combined for 31 goals this year, and have not exactly been the soundest defensive clubs at times. We saw it with the Dallas / Colorado match, and Dallas simply watched the Rapids flow all over them in the 4 - 0 defeat just weeks ago.
Up and downs of a season are always the story, and these two offenses can certainly muster up a 2 - 1 type of score line, so the prediction comes...
... in the form of the Over as suspected. Dallas is not going to slow down this New York offense for 90 minutes, and the Red Bulls will certainly have their issues with the Dallas press, so as long as enough balls hit the frame of the net, we should see enough shots to find three goals to cash this Over ticket. Simple as that really, although there is certainly value on the New York side if you wish to consider it.
We really couldn't argue with anyone who would put the NY Pk with that type of price at +140, because a draw wouldn't leave a scratch on you either.
Consider both the total to go Over, and the NY Pk at +140, with a third play on the Team Total Over 1 for the Red Bulls at -115, as it appears currently on many sites in the world.
