MLS Soccer Betting at BetDSI: New York City FC vs San Jose
Friday, September 18th, 2015By Ej Garr
MLS Odds: NYCFC and the San Jose Earthquakes are just points away from post-season appearances in their respective conferences, but their time is running out in the regular season to earn playoff berths. San Jose enters the weekend trying to snap a three-game run without a win, and the amount of injuries they have sustained late in the season could take its toll on their playoff chances.
With seven players on their roster out of the lineup this weekend for the Quakes, the pressure on Chris Wondolowski to produce night in and night out is becoming too obvious. Although he came through with a big goal against Montreal at homeon Wednesday, the Quakes had the impossible happen and failed to earn three points, despite having a 1 - 0 lead and playing up a man against the Impact.
Ambroise Oyongo was sent off for Montreal with a red card just four minutes in to the second half, and the San Jose defense was unable to hold on to the lead after allowing a 65th minute goal to the Impact, leaving San Jose with only two points from their last three outings.
San Jose is only one point back of both Portland and Kansas City, who are tied for the sixth spot that holds a playoff berth in the West. With 40 points, the disappointment of a home draw, in a match where three points were a must, could linger with only five games left to play.
NYCFC got a big result at homeon Wednesday, taking out Toronto at Yankee Stadium 2 - 0 and, as we mentioned in the Toronto preview with Colorado, Toronto became just the second team all season to have not scored against NYCFC at Yankee Stadium.
NYCFC is also on the outside of the playoff hunt entering the weekend, as they sit just two points behind Montreal for the sixth and final post-season position in the Eastern Conference.
Frank Lampard finally scored a goal for NYCFCon Wednesday, which took him only what seems like forever since he came over from Manchester City in the summer window. Injuries have had Lampard on the sidelines much too long as the New York club has missed his presence for too long.
All five teams left on the NYCFC schedule feature playoff contenders, as they will follow up this outing with a stop at BC Place to face Vancouver, while heading to RFK Stadium to face DC United the first weekend in October.
The three-game road trip will finish with a stop at the Citrus Bowl to face a hungry Orlando City squad who are also in the hunt for a playoff berth. The New York side will finish with a home game against the scorching hot New England Revolution.

Quick Analysis & Prediction
Well, we are not about to shy away from Yankee Stadium Overs just because Toronto was unable to find the neton Wednesday. We know this NYCFC club is so eager to make the playoffs in their first MLS season, something expansion franchises usually don't earn in their first year of existence.
Seeing San Jose tank the way they did just a few days ago, gives us even more confidence in this New York side to have success at home finding the net. If you can stop a team from scoring while playing up a man in any league, there is reason for concern, especially when you are also chasing a post-season as San Jose is.
The Over 3 at +110 makes the board for us, and a secondary play on NYCFC at home with the same +110 on the 3-Way line also makes our suggestion box this weekend, expecting no less than a 2 - 1 home win for Jason Kreis and his boys in light blue at historic Yankee Stadium.
