MLS Soccer Betting at BetDSI: New England vs Montreal
Friday, October 10th, 2014By Ej Garr
MLS Odds:New England continues its torrid pace to end the season, taking 7 of their last 8 matches. Now they get a chance to take advantage of having last place Montreal on their schedule and pull within 1 point of DC United for the top spot in the East.
Montreal has been playing well lately, not evident of a last place team who is out of playoff contention. They've managed a result in 3 of their last 4, all of which were playing for their playoff lives, so they are not just giving points away to the teams above them and folding up shop.
The lines don't exactly point to this being easy for New England. Usually, when a team that is on the cusp of first place is playing a team that is completely out of it, you will see some favoritism towards the better team.

Quick Analysis & Prediction
As mentioned, reading the lines and seeing Montreal practically a favorite at home, when New England is both playing well and playing for so much more, certainly brings caution on the play.
We cashed Montreal and the +0.5 vs Chicago last weekend because of the way the Impact are playing, and yet we also cashed our ticket with the play we made on the New England match with Columbus, so where do we go here?
This could potentially be a 1 - 1 type match, which is why we see the lines listed as they are, but I am not someone who likes to put draws on the board, even though they can be profitable. It is just not in my DNA to play it that way.
Something is pointing me to Montreal here at home, but I will use that safety net I have mentioned plenty of times. Play the Impact and the Pk at -120, so if they win, we win, if they draw, we walk away with no harm and no foul.
