MLS Soccer Betting at BetDSI: Montreal vs New York City FC
Friday, July 3rd, 2015By Ej Garr
MLS Odds: As we reach the halfway point of the MLS season, the Montreal Impact and New York City FC find themselves separated by a single point near the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings, with each struggling to find consistency. NYCFC had appeared to finally be getting back on track this season after a rough start to their inaugural campaign in MLS.
With an impressive win against the Philadelphia Union to start June, NYCFC backed up the outing with their first back-to-back wins in franchise history, taking out the Impact in their first ever meeting just a few weeks ago. After a shootout loss to the New York Cosmos in the fourth round of the U.S Open Cup, NYCFC rebounded nicely with a win on the road at Toronto, only to taste defeat last weekend to the New York Red Bulls for the second time this year.
In the loss to the Red Bulls last weekend, NYCFC took a 1 - 0 lead to the locker room at halftime, only to get completely dominated in the second half of play. The Red Bulls leveled the score just two minutes into the second stanza with a goal from Bradley Wright-Phillips, and quickly took a 2 - 1 lead just five minutes later with an outstanding goal from defender Chris Duvall. Duvall's goal came after a loose ball in the box was recovered by Mike Grella, who chipped the ball into a crowd and found Anatole Abang, who headed the ball to Duvall, who proceeded to blast home the chance from an awkward angle.
The Red Bulls added a third goal in the 73rd minute, completing the comeback while scoring three unanswered goals in the second half, two of which came from defenders pushing forward, as Matt Miazga scored off a set piece, and celebrated with a home run swing on the sidelines at historic Yankee Stadium.
Montreal will be enjoying the next two months of action with plenty of home games ahead of them. The Impact is coming off two road games without a win, which includes a loss to rival Toronto and a 2 - 2 draw with Philadelphia last weekend.
Montreal will play three of their four July games on the MLS schedule at Stade Saputo, and four of their first five games in August at home, which includes their two-legged series in the Canadian Championships with the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Montreal and NYCFC will meet again onAugust 1at Yankee Stadium which will complete the three game series and account for one of the two road games for Montreal over the next two months.

Quick Analysis & Prediction
We gladly offered the Over in the first meeting between these two, and we have no reason to think that is the best place to look for some action in this game. Montreal has not exactly been sound defensively this season, and we just saw NYCFC give up three goals to the Red Bulls in the second half alone last weekend.
The goalkeeping issues for the Impact have been a season-long discussion, and they even went as far as bringing in an NASL goalkeeper, the likes of Kristian Nicht from the Indy Eleven during the Champions League portion of the season.
Obviously, we all know that Frank Lampard and Andrea Pirlo are also set to the join the NYCFC roster in a week or so, and that will be something we address when the time comes.
Goals are the call for this match, as it was in the first meeting as we mentioned. There is nothing that could convince us otherwise, although the -125 on the Over 2.5 action is close to borderline when it comes to juice.
It is the chance we take, and the best recommendation we can make here, so expect no less than a 2 - 1 result, to cash our Over 2.5 tickets hopefully within the first hour of the game.
