MLS Soccer Betting at BetDSI: Montreal vs Houston
Friday, April 10th, 2015By Ej Garr
MLS Odds: Montreal is still looking for their first win of 2015 in MLS play, although they are having plenty of success in CONCACAF Champions League having made it all the way to finals. Despite losing 4 - 2 to the Costa Rican sideAlajuelensethis past Tuesday, they will be facing Mexico's Club America in the first leg of the finalson April 22. That, however, has not carried over to league play, and Montreal has come up with three underwhelming performances to start 2015, as they look to rebound from the 2 - 2 draw with Orlando City just two weekends ago.
They held a 2 - 0 lead only to see it evaporate with two goals from Orlando City in just a minute’s time to draw for the second time this year, the first coming a week before with New England. Houston has not played much better themselves in 2015. They have not won since opening day and only mounted one goal scored in their last four outings.
We did enjoy that 1 - 0 performance in Seattle last weekend however, cashing in on our easy Under suggestion for that game, even with Seattle having their normal lineup available. Seattle had to finish the match with 10 men, after Pineda was handed a straight red card in the 56th minute, but yet Houston still could not find the back of the net.
With two lethargic offenses as these two have had this year, and only two goals each on the young season, we will be hard pressed to see some kind of offensive outpouring in this one.
The two have met 10 times in their MLS history, with the home team winning nine games, with one draw in the mix. This leaves the away team without a win in the series since 2012, with Houston winning 4 of the last 5 encounters.
Off the pitch news for the Impact: To update the injury news on Cameron Porter, he had successful ACL surgery and is expected back in a year or so. Also, Santiago Gonzalez and the team agreed to part ways leaving the Uruguayan looking for employment.
Last 10 MLS Meetings:
Houston leads the all-time series with 5 wins, 4 losses and a draw in their 10 meetings the two have had in MLS competition since Montreal joined MLS in 2012.
1x2 3-Way Lines:
Montreal +0.5 -130
Houston -0.5 +110

Quick Analysis & Prediction
Despite the expectation of a low scoring game here, one team should be able to break the chalk line and find the back of the net. We expect that team will be Houston, since we know that Tyler Deric is among the better net minders in MLS, and Montreal just played in Mexicoon Tuesday. Montreal should feel lucky as hell to be in the Champions League Final at all, after getting beat down byAlajuelense 4 - 2, so if they think it will get easier at BBVA Compass Stadium, they have another thing coming.
We have zero respect for the Impact, and they don't deserve any either. Yes, they did enough to reach the CL final by scoring two away goals in their tie with the Costa Rican side, but that effort was not one worth writing home about.Simply put, as long as Houston can play the game that we expect them to play, then we give Montreal no chance of coming out of here with any type of result.
The play goes to Houston, and the 3-Way line of +110, until the Impact gives us a reason to believe they are worth one cent of our hard earned money!
