MLS Soccer Betting at BetDSI: Los Angeles vs Real Salt Lake
Wednesday, May 27th, 2015By Ej Garr
MLS Odds: The Los Angeles Galaxy meet with Real Salt Lake for the second of three meetings in 2015 and, after a scoreless draw on May 6, the two teams took away different experiences. The Galaxy's Juninho missed a chance from the penalty spot in extra time to seal the win, while it looked like LA was going to escape Utah with three points.
Salt Lake goal keeper Nick Rimando saw the shot, kept the free kick out of his net and salvaged the point, which has given this Utah club momentum having now won two of their last three outings since. Real Salt Lake has recovered from the five-game winless streak that culminated with the draw vs Los Angeles, winning games over the Chicago Fire and NYCFC, sandwiched with a 4 - 1 loss to the Montreal Impact.
In last weekend's convincing win over NYCFC, RSL held the expansion franchise to only one shot on target, while finding a goal from both John Stertzer and Álvaro Saborío in the 2 - 0 win at home.
Los Angeles comes into the game after snapping their own 5-match winless streak this weekend, after another extra time situation presented itself. This time, it worked in their favor as substitute Alan Gordon, who came on for Jose Villarreal in the 68th minute, took a feed from Robbie Keane and placed a header perfectly behind Tyler Deric, who had no chance on the play to stop the ball from finding the back of the net. Gordon was given a yellow card for his celebration, ripping off his shirt off after securing all three points at home.
The two teams are tied at 17 points, although Salt Lake has only played 12 games, to LA's 13.

Quick Analysis & Prediction
We can more than likely expect Robbie Keane to be back in his familiar starting role, after coming on as a sub 10 minutes into the second half to get his feet wet again. His absence was no coincidence that the team had faced a five-game winless skid, although they will be without defender Oscar Sorto, who picked up a red card this weekend after his tackle against David Horst.
The Galaxy has won four of the last five meetings at StubHub Center, but this goalkeeping matchup might be the storyline again, as it was in the first meeting on May 6. Nick Rimando and Jaime Penedo are arguable two of the better keepers in MLS.
We give the edge to Penedo, and the fact that Keane and Omar Gonzalez are both back in playing shape again. We saw what happens to LA when Gonzalez is out of the lineup, as they let four goals go by expansion Orlando City.
With LA only having a few minor adjustments to make on their back line, and Real Salt Lake still essentially getting their offense in gear, these are the type of matches that just have a low-scoring type of feel to it.
We will go with 2 - 0 LA as the score call, which finds us suggesting the -1 on the Galaxy at +105. If they can only manage a 1 - 0 win, no harm done and we will take our money back after the push to use it again up the road.
