MLS Soccer Betting at BetDSI: FC Dallas vs New York City FC
Friday, September 11th, 2015By Ej Garr
MLS Odds: Two teams going in different directions meet up at Toyota Stadium, as Dallas plays host to NYCFC on aSaturdayevening tilt. Dallas is currently riding a modest two-game win streak entering the weekend, sitting in third place alone with 44 points in the difficult Western Conference.
The Texas outfit will be making their lone September appearance at home, hoping to improve on a 9 - 2 - 2 home record that has brought in 29 of their 44 points on the season. Dallas has not surrendered a goal over the mini two-game win streak, as they shut down both Salt Lake and Columbus in their last two outings, despite losing the possession battle in each game.
In their 3 - 0 win over Columbus last weekend, Dallas only had the ball for 32 percent of the action, although the first half was relatively even on the stat sheet as a whole, other than the one goal scored. It was the only shot taken by either team in the first stanza, while each team put out a makeshift lineup due to the significant amount of absences for international duty.
NYCFC enters the weekend without a win in their last three outings, and only one win in their last six contests.
With their playoff hopes fading and having such an extreme payroll after the additions of Andrea Pirlo and Frank Lampard, neither player has really managed to have an influence on the season, and many are questioning if the money was well spent or not.
With 13 days off between matches and only seven games remaining in the regular season, there is limited opportunities left to find points down the stretch, and the schedule is not exactly going to be easy to navigate either.
The expansion side will return to Yankee Stadium for two games against Toronto and San Jose, but will have a tough three-game road swing that will take them to Vancouver, DC United, and Orlando before the final regular season game at home against New England.
New York City's defense is certainly the cause of their recent failures. They have allowed two or more goals in eight of their last nine games, and have allowed three or more goals in five of those nine outings.
Javier Calle, Khiry Shelton and Mehdi Ballouchy are doubtful to make an appearance this weekend, as the three join three other members of the team who will be out for an extended period of time.

Quick Analysis & Prediction
Is three goals even something that we need to be concerned about if we make a play on this total?
NYCFC couldn't stop a handful of us guys in the BetDSI studio from scoring once or twice, so how are they going to stop Dallas from finding the net early and often?
Dallas has stepped up their defensive game to get their two-game win streak in order, but we certainly don't see them shutting down NYC for 90 minutes.
The Over 3 is almost a given here, and the line setters even put a -120 on the action knowing that when the word playoffs comes around in MLS, everyone seems to score in droves.
This is not like other leagues around the world that tighten up when the stretch run of the season takes shape, and we saw it all last year as the playoffs approached.
We could see three goals by halftime, much less 90 minutes, so the Over 3 is indeed our recommendation for this match at Toyota Stadium.
