MLS Soccer Betting at BetDSI: Columbus vs Philadelphia
Friday, October 10th, 2014By Ej Garr
MLS Odds:The road to enlightenment is long and difficult, just ask the Columbus Crew if you aren’t sure what that means. They’ve only won one win in their last 11 matches away from home. If the road woes continue, it could be Columbus’s undoing, especially having to travel to New York next week and face a team that is also in playoff contention.
Philadelphia only has 2 losses at home, but they have let too many teams come in to PPL Park and take points from them, settling for 8 draws here.
Something has got to give if either of them want to see the playoffs. With Philly being only 4 points back of Columbus (who happens to be the team holding that 5th spot with 43 points), and with 3 matches left in the regular season, there is no bigger game for both squads.

Quick Analysis & Prediction
I personally don't think Philly has the firepower to score enough and keep Columbus on their heels. Ever since the loss to Seattle in the Cup Final, Philly has looked like a fish out of water.
Columbus has the 5th spot and needs to make sure they keep it, despite the road games killing them this year. They have got to at least come out of here with some type of result, be it a draw or win.
How to play it is the trick for us bettors, but we have the answer -- the Handicap!
Columbus may not press a ton and could keep an extra body or two back to make sure they don't go down at any point of the match. If they go down 1 - 0 early, things will look like they always seem to lately when they travel -- the 'Oh no, not again' scenario, if you know what I mean!
I think Columbus will use their defense and transition to continue to keep Philly frustrated trying to find the net. A 1 - 0 result would be everything the Crew could ask for, so I expect a low-scoring first half with not much going on, so Columbus can take more chances in the second half. Don't be surprised if it is 0 - 0 going to the locker room after 45.
Play Columbus Pk and +0.5 at close to even money. A draw would not be the worst thing with that bet on the board. (If you are in Europe or if Diamond ends up offering it, think about the 0/Pk as well with the decent payout on the DNB - Draw No Bet.)
