MLS Soccer Betting at BetDSI: Colorado vs Montreal
Friday, October 9th, 2015By Ej Garr
MLS Odds: With the Colorado Rapids out of the chase for a post-season berth in the Western Conference for the third time in four years, the Montreal Impact look to hang on to the sixth position in the East with Orlando City tight on their heels.
The Rapids were officially knocked out of the post-season chase last weekend after their 2 - 1 loss to Real Salt Lake, and now the only thing left to do is to make it difficult for the Impact to progress to only their second playoff appearance in club history. With three games remaining and 10 points behind both San Jose and Portland, who are fighting for the final post-season berth in the West, the Rapids let their opportunity slip by after going five straight outings without a win, being outscored 11 - 5.
Colorado will be facing three teams who are in playoff races in their final three games of the season, and with nothing left to gain but to plan for next year, all that is left to do is try to build some momentum and make Montreal, Kansas City and Portland's path more difficult.
The Impact are also trying to shake off a two-game losing skid as they approach the playoffs, as they enter their weekend encounter with Colorado just one point clear of Orlando City. Orlando City has reeled off four straight wins to keep their name in the hat for a post-season berth.
Montreal lost out on their heads-up chance to take out Orlando City on October 3 at the Citrus Bowl, and lost 2 - 1 to the New York Red Bulls last weekend to stretch their streak without a road win to six games.
In the loss to the Red Bulls just four days after their loss to Orlando City, Ambroise Oyongo tried to save a shot on goal and make it look like he used his head, but in all actuality he used his hand to keep the ball out of the Montreal net and was sent off the field in the 15th minute with a red card.
Sacha Kljestan calmly took the ensuing penalty kick to give the Red Bulls an early 1 - 0 lead, but he missed a second opportunity from the spot after a second penalty kick was given to the Bulls just before the half hour mark.
Lloyd Sam did give the Red Bulls a 2 - 0 lead just before halftime, but Montreal fought back to bring the game to 2 - 1 after a late Didier Drogba penalty kick was converted in the 68th minute.
The win for the Red Bulls propelled them to 54 points, which is now three points clear of both Los Angeles and Dallas in the Western Conference, who enter this weekend with 51 points.

Quick Analysis & Prediction
With this being the only game of the weekend around all of MLS, we can assume that Orlando City and New York City will have a team gathering to watch the game, knowing that this result will directly affect the two teams.
NYCFC will be eliminated from any chance of a post-season with a Montreal win, and Orlando City will face that NYCFC teamnext Fridayat the Citrus Bowl.
In the three all-time meetings these two teams have played, we have seen goals upon goals in each encounter, with no less than five goals scored combined in any of the three encounters.
We are going to hope to see more of that goal scoring that we have seen in the history of the series, and suggest this Over 2.5 at a marginal -125.
Even though Colorado has been among the worst offenses in all of MLS this year, there is nothing left to be critical about, and there is no reason to sit back and get in to some defensive battle with nothing to lose or gain in the standings.
The Over 2.5 is the suggested offer, and that will be our only play of the weekend obviously, so we will see you after the international break!
