MLS Soccer Betting at BetDSI: Colorado vs Dallas
Thursday, June 18th, 2015By Ej Garr
MLS Odds: The Colorado Rapids look to take the season series against Dallas after a win and a draw in the first two meetings this year. Colorado and Dallas both advanced in the U.S Open Cup this week, and will continue on in the tournament.
Colorado defeated Colorado Springs 4 - 1 at home, and will now face Houston in the fifth round. Dallas got by Oklahoma City by the same score at home, and will be playing Sporting Kansas City in the fifth round. Colorado captain Drew Moor saw some playing time in the U.S Open Cup, but in his interview on the Rapids home page this week he still mentions the concerns with his knee. Leading into the U.S Open Cup match, the Rapids have struggled of late in MLS action.
With only one point from a draw in their last three outings, the team finds themselves at the bottom of the Western Conference standings with only 14 points, and have a league low two wins on the season.
In last weekend’s 0 - 0 with Real Salt Lake, both teams only managed a single shot on goal, despite combining for 30 attempts on net. The Rapids had a golden opportunity to win the game in the 88th minute, but Dillon Powers was unable to convert a penalty kick that would have certainly earned the team three points. Powers leads the team with five assists and is primarily a setup man, but was given the opportunity just minutes after Gabe Torres came out of the game. Torres leads the team with four goals, and is the only player on the team with more than one goal scored this season.
The Rapids have only one win in their last nine outings, and have only one win at home in seven games played at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
Dallas will be wrapping up their five-game road trip in MLS play this weekend, and the results have not gone in their favor over the first four outings. With an 0 - 3 - 1 record, and only one point earned thus far in the trip, Dallas is now tied with Portland and the LA Galaxy with 22 points in the West. They have been outscored 9 - 1 in the first four games of the trip, and are coming off a 3 - 0 defeat to Seattle last time out. The game was even on paper, with a 50/50 possession battle, but the Sounders scored on all three shots that were on frame.
Obafemi Martins made his return from injury at the hour mark, and made his influence on the match in only 12 minutes. All three substitutes that Sigi Schmid made for the Sounders found their way to the score sheet, pulling all the right strings in the second half to earn the win for Seattle.
Dallas will also see the return of a handful of players who were out with either injuries, or international appearances. Defender Matt Hedges is the only player listed on the Dallas injury list on the MLS home page, and the team should be at full complement comeFridaynight.

Quick Analysis & Prediction
Dallas will obviously do all they can to avoid a winless road trip, and will also be conscious of the fact that Colorado has a win and draw in the two previous meetings this season. This will be their fourth game in 11 days, including the Cup matchon Tuesday.
Both teams do, however, come in with a bit of confidence, after convincing wins this week, although the matches were against USL opponents.
Scoring is the name of the game, and we hope to see some more of that here. Dallas will be looking to atone for the 4 - 0 beat down that Colorado handed them in the first meeting this year in Dallas, and with Dallas finally having the team on the field, they should feel more than able to break down this Colorado back line.
We are suggesting the Over 2.5 at a lovely +110, expecting a 2 - 1 match at worst, with Dallas needing to avoid a five-game road trip that has only seen them earn a point. Goals is the call, and hopefully we see them both find the back of the net early and often.
