MLS Odds: The New England Revolution snapped their six-match losing streak last weekend, and are hoping they can build upon last weekend's win to remain in the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference. Revs’ coach Jay Heaps finally almost cracked a smile in this week's team presser, but he knows that the road ahead is still going to be an uphill one.The Revolution have lost six straight road games entering this weekend, and have lost eight of their 11 games away from home this season as a whole.

Jermaine Jones returned to practice this week, and will be traveling with the team to Chicago, hoping that Coach Heaps will ease him back to the lineup soon enough. He is not expected to start this weekend, and was quoted on the Revs’ home page as saying that he feels no leftover pain from hernia surgery and is ready to get back on the field as soon as he can.

New England only has 13 games remaining in the regular season, and will only play three games in August in league action. They will return home for two games with Houston and Toronto to begin next month, and will have two weeks to prepare for their match with the Philadelphia Union onAugust 29.

In their 1 - 0 triumph last weekend at Yankee Stadium over NYCFC, Lee Nguyen scored in the 12th minute of the game, and provided the only goal of the day to snap their six-game losing streak. The Revs limited the New Yorkers to just one shot on goal in the first half and three overall, while playing much of the second half up a man as Ned Grabavoy was sent off with a red card in the 55th minute of the match.

Chicago enters the weekend on the heels of a big U.S Open Cup match win over Orlando Cityon Wednesday, which will now see them through to the semifinals of the affair. They will play Philadelphia at PPL Park onAugust 12to determine which of the two will earn their way to the finals of the Cup to face either Sporting KC or Real Salt Lake, who take part in the other semi match.

The Fire has earned 15 of their 18 overall points from their results at Toyota Park this season, and have won four of their last five games at home in all competitions, although three of those are U.S Cup outings.

Chicago is seeking their first two-game home win streak in league play since April, when they reeled off three straight against Philly, Toronto and NYCFC.

The Fire will remain home to face first place DC United next weekend, and will embark on a three-game road trip from there. They will face Portland at Providence Park, take on Philly as mentioned in the U.S Open Cup and remain in Philly for their MLS meeting just four days after the semifinals match.

    Quick Analysis & Prediction

    Quick Analysis:

Chicago still remains in the East basement, but they are still a mere six points away from the final playoff position, and have 15 games left to play in league action.

The U.S Open cup win does not change the fact that Chicago has been outscored 28 - 20 this season, and are riding a two-game skid entering this weekend in MLS action.

New England knows that they, too, have to keep getting results after their win last weekend to erase the memory of six straight losses, while still dealing with their six-game home losing streak entering this weekend.

We are turning our attention to the total in this one, because we just don't see the value in predicting a home win for Chicago, with New England also needing a big result this weekend.

The Over 2.5 makes our list of play to suggest this weekend at -120, with a semi-reasonable line to take advantage of.

This should turn into a high-scoring affair in the second half, so as long as we can find a goal or two in the first 45 minutes, the second half should open up, and we should see the three goals we need to cash our Over 2.5 tickets when these two finish at Toyota Parkon Saturday night.
