MLS Soccer Betting at BetDSI: Chicago vs Columbus
Thursday, May 21st, 2015By Ej Garr
MLS Odds: Chicago and Columbus face off for the first of their three meetings in 2015 this weekend at MAPFRE Stadium. The two will meet again in a home and home series in July, when they face each other twice in only five days. The Chicago Fire is trying to see the positive side of drawing last weekend away from home, but we are not going to be so blind to the obvious. With a 1 - 0 lead against NYCFC at Yankee Stadium, defender RJ Allen drew a red card in the box that led to the Fire's second goal from the penalty spot.
With a 2 - 0 lead, and playing 11 vs 10 for the last hour of the match, the Fire not only failed to win, but they gave up two goals and had to settle for one point from the 2 - 2 draw. NYCFC scored in additional time in the first half to make it 2 - 1, and scored again in extra time after the 90. And if anyone is looking at that as a positive thing, it is certainly not the Fire.
Columbus is also coming off a disappointing result last weekend, losing 2 - 0 to San Jose at Avaya Stadium. Columbus had to finish the last hour of the match a man down, after midfielder Mohammed Saeid picked up a second yellow 33 minutes into the game. As a result, he will obviously be out this weekend’s match as well too.
San Jose ended up doing to Columbus what Chicago couldn't do against NYCFC last weekend and scored twice while up a man, instead of allowing two goals with the man advantage.
Will Trapp is still absent for Columbus, but now this team is just about as healthy as they have been all year. The front four of Kamara, Finlay, Higuain and Meram are all healthy too, and there is no excuse that, this weekend, they will not come out and take advantage of a Fire club who has yet to win away from home.
Last 10 MLS Meetings:
The Chicago Fire lead the recent series with 6 Wins, 3 Losses and a Draw in the teams’ last 10 MLS meetings.
The two teams also met in the U.S Cup in the last two seasons, with Chicago winning both of those outings.
1x2 3-Way Lines:

Quick Analysis & Prediction
Once again, we are glad to point out that the Fire stunk up Yankee Stadium last weekend, and when you are up a man and have a two goal lead, there is absolutely no excuse to not earn those three points.
The Columbus front four should feast on this Chicago defense, and will likely remain winless on the road when this one is said and done.
We are going to recommend two plays for this one, because we all know what Columbus does when they play at home.
The -135 on the 3-Way line is not completely user-friendly, but it is the line that is being offered, and one of the two plays we will suggest for this game.
The second play comes in the form of the total, and if -110 is all the line setters ask to expect a 2 - 1 type of match, then we are more than open to putting that Over on the board as well.
The Over 2.5, and the home side to win, should combine to see us 2 - 0 with the plays we have suggested for for this one.
