The Los Angeles Galaxy are solid favorites in MLS betting to repeat as MLS champs this season. The Galaxy have superstars like Landon Donovan and David Beckham and they have brought back Edson Buddle after a year’s absence and they were able to hang on to Juninho.
The 2012 MLS season begins in just a few weeks with regular season games set for early March. The Galaxy will be favored in most matches this season as they are the defending champs. Not only did Los Angeles keep David Beckham in the fold but brining back Buddle is huge and getting Juninho to return is a nice bonus.
Galaxy Hoping to Play in FIFA Club World Cup
No MLS team has ever played in the FIFA Club World Cup but the Galaxy look to be as good a team as the MLS has had in some time. Los Angeles will have to win the CONCACAF Champions League but they appear to have the talent to do it.
Western Conference Dominance
The sad part for teams like Real Salt Lake and Seattle is that they play in the same conference as Los Angeles. The Galaxy are clear favorites in the West which means that both Real Salt Lake and Seattle will be battling for second place. The Galaxy lost just five times a year ago and they appear to be even stronger this season. Los Angeles will miss Omar Gonzalez on defense but it shouldn’t matter as the Galaxy should be able to outscore all of their foes this season. Seattle finished four points behind Los Angeles last season in the Western Conference which is nice but in the end it meant nothing. This year the Sounders will do well to stay within 10 points of the Galaxy.
There is no team in the Eastern Conference that is even close to Los Angeles and really there is no team in the East even as good as Seattle or Real Salt Lake. It is hard to make a case in MLS betting for any team other than Los Angeles winning the MLS title in 2012.
