Soccer Betting: After quite an interesting round of the Copa Del Rey this week, the La Liga campaign resumes with only three rounds left before the holiday break. The big news out of Spain this week once again involved Real Madrid in the Copa Del Rey, as it was revealed that the club has been disqualified from further participation in the competition.

Apparently Denis Cheryshev was ruled ineligible after picking up three yellow cards in last year's competition and was supposed to be out of uniform. Cheryshev started and scored the first goal of the match, but was taken out of the game to begin the second half after Rafa Benitez was notified that the Russian national was not supposed to be allowed to play.

Mateo Kovacic came on for Cheryshev, but the Cadiz outfit complained to the Spanish Federation and it apparently led to Real Madrid's elimination. An appeal process will now start before the second leg takes place in mid-December.

Back to the league news, our featured match of the round is between Valencia vs Barcelonaon Saturdayat Mestalla. Barcelona are coming off a 6 - 1 second leg win in their Copa Del Rey campaign this week, and will be moving on in the event, despite not starting one regular on the roster.

Valencia grabbed a 3 - 1 victory over Barakaldo in their first leg of the round of 32 in the Cup, and will be playing the second leg here at Mestalla onDecember 16.

FourSundaymatches and a loneMondaycontest round out the weekend, so let's get to the pitch, and see what we can expect around La Liga.

    Analysis and Prediction:

Barcelona put a B squad out for their second leg of the Copa Del Rey this week, after a scoreless first leg between Villanovense, who are in the fourth group of the Segunda Division.

Sandro Ramirez added a hat-trick to the 6 - 1 Barcelona win, helping the club to become the first team to advance to the round of 16 in the Spanish Cup.

Barcelona did start Jeremy Mathieu in the mid-week affair, but they have apparently lost him for the trip to Mestalla due to a hyperextension to a muscle on his right thigh. This injury could also possibly leave him out of the Champions League match coming up onDecember 9against Bayer Levekusen. The Spanish champions have already ensured their progression to the knockout round of the club competition with an eight-point lead in group E with only one match remaining in group stage.

Valencia's effort against Sevilla last weekend, if we can call it an effort, was one of the worst performances we have seen from any result in the campaign thus far. The Oranges had two players sent off the pitch with red cards, and did not even put a shot towards the net, much less on the frame.

Defender João Cancelo picked up an early yellow card, and was sent off in the 35th minute after a harsh foul to Escudero Palomo that earned him a second yellow. Midfielder Javi Fuego picked up two yellows in the second half, which will now put both players out of the lineup this weekend.

Barcelona will have all their regulars back, and that does not bode well for Valencia, who have only one win over Barcelona in the last 17 meetings.

We offer the Over 3.5 at even money in this contest, expecting Barcelona to have a wealth of success finding the net. The Barca handicap -1.5 at -120 is not a poor choice for your action as well.

    Real Madrid vs Getafe

    3-Way: 1: Madrid -1000 Home ; X: +1095 Draw ; 2: Getafe +2010 Away

    Spread: Madrid -2.5 -105 ; Getafe +2.5 -115

    Total 4: Over +115 ; Under -135

    Analysis and Prediction:

To say it has been a controversial campaign for Real Madrid would be a mild understatement.

We have already discussed this past week's issues with the Copa Del Rey, which will still have to be sorted out as the club claims that Denis Cheryshev was not informed that he was ineligible to play in the match.

Madrid President Fiorentino Perez was quoted after the match saying, “We received nothing, no note, nothing from the Spanish FA. We'll take this to the appeals, then the arbitration court.”

So that process will have to be sorted out before the second leg of the round of 32, which Madrid holds a 3 - 1 aggregate lead.

Even though manager Rafa Benitez tried to show good faith by removing Cheryshev from the contest in the second half, this is not the first time that Benitez has faced this type of elimination for questionable decisions. In 2001 while with Valencia, his club was disqualified for fielding too many non-EU players in the round of 64 of the Spanish Cup.

Getafe lost their first leg of the Copa Del Rey this week to Rayo Vallecano, and will be facing a 2 - 0 aggregate when they return home for the second leg onDecember 16.

Getafe has long been considered the little brother of Real Madrid, although there is no official derby title attached to the rivalry that has seen Real Madrid take 12 of the last 13 meetings.

It may seem like a bit of a risk, but we are offering the -2.5 handicap on Real Madrid at -105, basically because Getafe has not lost by less than three goals in the last five meetings.

    Granada vs Atletico Madrid

    3-Way: 1: Granada +600 Home ; X: +255 Draw ; 2: Atletico -160 Away

    Spread: Granada +0.5 +140 ; Ateltico -0.5 -160

    Total 2: Over -110 ; Under -110

    Analysis and Prediction:

So were you surprised by the 1 - 0 result for Atletico over Espanyol last weekend?

Of course you weren't, because we told you the score before they even took the pitch. Snooze-fest football weekend after weekend.

Atletico is facing a pretty big match onDecember 8in Champions League, as they and Benfica meet on the final day of group stage tied with 10 points atop group C. The winner will ensure the top spot in the group, although the two did play to a 2 - 1 result in favor of Benfica in the first meeting.

The problem we have here is that we are looking at a straight 2 on the total at a pretty trivial -110, especially since Granada is not exactly considered a defensively sound club.

Amazingly, and yes we can't believe it either, we are offering the Over 2 in an Atletico Madrid match. Atletico should be able to find both goals, and at least push our action, but hopefully Granada shows up and finds the net once to boost our chances of cashing out the action.

    Dep La Coruna vs Sevilla

    3-Way: 1: Deportivo +200 Home ; X: +250 Draw ; 2: Sevilla +140 Away

Spread: Deportivo Pk +115 ; Sevilla Pk -135

    Total 2.5: Over -135 ; Under +115

    Analysis and Prediction:

Sevilla came away with that 1 - 0 win we discussed in the Valencia preview, but boy does it get easier when Valencia looked as bad as they did. The two red cards for Valencia made life much easier, but Sevilla didn't exactly go out and make it look easy to get that 1 - 0 result.

Sevilla has one match left in the Champions League group stage coming up during the week, although the best they will be able to do is find their way back to Europa League. Sevilla are at the bottom of group D with three points, and will need a win over Juventus, combined with a loss by Gladbach to Manchester City to ensure their path back to Europa League.

Sevilla of course are the two-time Europa League champions, but obviously they had much bigger expectations than being sent back to the second level club competition.

Bet on La Liga at BetDSI

Sevilla won their first leg of the Copa Del Rey as did Deportivo, although Sevilla made it look easier against UD Logrones than Deportivo did against Llogostera.

Deportivo found themselves down 1 - 0 in the first 20 minutes, and despite a red card that left them playing 10 vs 11, the Brancoazuis did earn a 2 - 1 win heading to the second leg of the Cup in two weeks.

Although we don't do it very often, we offer the draw here at +250. This has a 1 - 1 feel to it, and call it a hunch as it is, it is how we expect this match to work out.

    Betis vs Celta de Vigo

    3-Way: 1: Betis +235 Home ; X: +260 Draw ; 2: Vigo +115 Away

    Spread: Betis +0.5 -135 ; Vigo -0.5 +115

    Total 2.5: Over -135 ; Under +115

    Analysis and Prediction:

Betis and Celta de Vigo both took front leg victories in the Copa Del Rey this week, while both clubs are also coming off wins last weekend in league play.

Betis defeated Gijon 2 - 0 in the Cup, and got past Levante last weekend with a 1 - 0 win that has the newly promoted club in 11th position of the La Liga table entering this weekend.

Vigo got past former La Liga participant Almeria 3 - 1 in the Cup this week, and shook off a two-match slide in league play last weekend with a win over Gijon.

Gijon seems to be involved with the theme here doesn't it?

Even though Betis has played three straight matches to a 1 - 0 result in league play, the line setters seem to be of the mindset that goals will be finding the net in this match, offering a -135 on the total to go over the 2.5.

We don't see it going down as easy as the line setters do, so we offer the Under 2.5 at +115, expecting a possible 1 - 1 draw type of match

    Sunday December 6- 4 Matches

    Real Sociedad vs Eibar

    3-Way: 1: Sociedad -110 Home ; X: +250 Draw ; 2: Eibar +335 Away

    Spread: Sociedad -0.5 -110 ; Eibar +0.5 -110

    Total 2: Over -140 ; Under +120

    Analysis and Prediction:

Real Sociedad and Eibar each lost their Copa Del Rey affairs this week, and will now face an uphill battle to remain in the competition when it resumes in two weeks.

Sociedad lost 2 - 1 to Las Palmas, but will return home for the second leg to try to reverse the result, while Eibar lost 3 - 0 to Ponferradina on the road as well.

Nothing else needs to be said here other than to suggest a line movement on the total, and boost it to the handicap offer of 2 and 2.5 to get closer to even money.

    Villarreal vs Rayo Vallecano

    3-Way: 1: Villarreal -170 Home ; X: +300 Draw ; 2: Rayo +525 Away

    Spread: Villarreal -1 -105 ; Rayo +1 -115

    Total 2.5: Over -115 ; Under -105

    Analysis and Prediction:

Villarreal lost to Huesca in the Copa Del Reyon Thursday, and played the entire match behind the Segunda Division club. It took three minutes for Huesca to jump out to a lead, and despite Villa bringing the match level in the 51st minute, it only took Huesca two minutes to regain the lead 2 - 1 after a penalty kick conversion.

Villa did again level the match at 2 - 2 just before the hour mark, but Huesca took and kept the 3 - 2 lead in the 75th minute, despite having a player sent off in extra time.

Vallecano got by Getafe in the Copa as we mentioned previously, but it has not been an easy campaign for Rayo this year as a whole. Losers of five of their last eight league outings, Vallecano sits back in 14th position of the La Liga table entering this weekend.

We see a 2 - 1 result coming here at El Madrigal, so we have to suggest the Over 2.5 at -115, as these two clubs have gotten in to some high scoring affairs over the last two campaigns.

Bet on La Liga at BetDSI

    Gijon vs Las Palmas

    3-Way: 1: Gijon +125 Home ; X: +230 Draw ; 2: Palmas +240 Away

    Spread: Gijon -0.5 +125 ; Palmas +0.5 -145

    Total 2: Over -155 ; Under +135

    Analysis and Prediction:

It has been difficult for these two clubs to score this campaign, as we see they have combined for only 22 goals through the first 13 rounds of the season.

Las Palmas is coming off a nice 2 - 1 home win in their Copa Del Rey outing against Sociedad, although Sociedad did miss a chance from the spot to take their own 2 - 1 lead at the time.

Gijon has been simply losing to everyone in every competition they are part of, as we mentioned they were stepping stones for both Betis and Celta de Vigo recently too.

We again suggest a line movement to get a more favorable line, and offer the Over 2 and 2.5 handicap line at close to even money on the action.

    Athletic Bilbao vs Malaga

    3-Way: 1: Bilbao -195 Home ; X: +330 Draw ; 2: Malaga +575 Away

    Spread: Bilbao -1 -115 ; Malaga +1 -105

    Total 2.5: Over -115 ; Under -105

Bet on La Liga at BetDSI

    Analysis and Prediction:

Athletic Bilbao is finally playing like the club we thought they would be after some nice results leading to the opening of the campaign. As you may recall, Bilbao handed Barcelona a 4 - 0 beat down in the Super Cup, but it didn't lead to much success in the beginning of the campaign.

Now Bilbao has one loss over their last 11 outings in all competitions, and are playing with the confidence we thought they should have had much earlier than this.

Regardless, Bilbao has climbed to within a point of the European positions behind Villarreal and Celta de Vigo, and also carry a 2 - 0 Copa Del Rey win in to this weekend's round.

Malaga is simply the mess we have expected them to be from jump, and are now riding a four-match skid without a win, losing three of those contests with a draw last weekend against Granada.

The Bilbao -1 at -105 makes our board in this match, because we still have no faith that Malaga is going to turn this thing around anytime soon.

    Monday December 7- 1 Match

    Espanyol vs Levante

    3-Way: 1: Espanyol +105 Home ; X: +230 Draw ; 2: Levante +300 Away

    Spread: Espanyol -0.5 +105 ; Levante +0.5 -125

    Total 2: Over -130 ; Under +110

Bet on La Liga at BetDSI

    Analysis and Prediction:

In a rematch of this week's Copa Del Rey affair, Espanyol and Levante will be becoming very familiar with each other for the next few weeks.

After the 1 - 1 drawon Thursdayat Levante's Ciutat de València, the two clubs will be playing twice over the next two weeks at Power8 Stadium in league play and in the second leg of the Cup onDecember 15.

Despite the poor line of -130 on the action, we still have to support the fact that we expect at least the two goals that will push our Over 2 tickets.

If 1 - 1 is the best these two can do again, there will be no harm and no foul called with a return of our action if need be.
