Week 5 Premier League Tips

  Week 5 in the Premier League includes Liverpool hosting Manchester United and Arsenal visiting Manchester City. Here is a look at all of the action for Week 5, the current odds and our picks.

  Saturday, September 22nd

  Everton at Swansea City (ESPN 2)

  Everton +130, Swansea City +170, Draw +215, total 2.5 under

  This is a tough spot for Everton who had to play on Monday as they go on the road to take on Swansea. I am going to take a shot at the draw in this one at +215.

  Stoke City at Chelsea

  Chelsea -325, Stoke City +785, Draw +385, total 2.5 over

  Chelsea had to play on Wednesday in the Champions League against Juventus which makes this game on Saturday a little dangerous. It is still hard to like Stoke on the road so I will pass.

  Aston Villa at Southampton

  Southampton +125, Aston Villa +175, Draw +215, total 2.5 under

  This has the look of a game that ends in a 2-2 tie. Southampton can’t play any defense but they are at home in this one so they should put up a fight. I will make two plays here and take the Draw at +215 and also take the game over the total.

  Reading at West Bromwich

  West Brom -133, Reading +325, Draw +235, total 2.5 under

  West Brom has been a nice surprise early this season while Reading has been poor. I don’t see anything changing on Saturday so I will lay the price with West Brom in Premier League tips.

  Sunderland at West Ham

  West Ham +110, Sunderland +215, Draw +215, total 2.5 under

  Neither one of these two teams is very good on offense so I will play the match under the total.

  Fulham at Wigan

  Wigan +125, Fulham +180, Draw +215, total 2.5 under

  I don’t really get this line. Since when is Wigan good enough to be favored against Fulham? I will take a shot with Fulham at almost 2-1 to get the road win.

  Sunday, September 23rd

  Manchester United at Liverpool

  Manchester United +145, Liverpool +165, Draw +215, total 2.5 under

  This is another line where I shake my head a little bit. Liverpool is simply not very good and I don’t care that they got a draw against City. Give me United at +145 to get the win.

  Norwich City at Newcastle United

  Newcastle -167, Norwich +385, Draw +250, total 2.5 over

  This is a really high price on Newcastle but I can’t recommend Norwich in Premier League tips so I’ll pass.

  Arsenal at Manchester City

  City -143, Arsenal +340, Draw +250, total 2.5 over

  City almost never loses at home and despite what Arsenal has done lately with eight goals in the past two games I will lay the price with City.

  Queens Park Rangers at Tottenham

  Tottenham -233, QPR +585, Draw +285, total 2.5 over

  This price is ridiculous on the Spurs. Maybe Tottenham does get the win but I’ll pass.
