EPL Predictions: Liverpool heads into the 2013-2014 season trying to improve from a disappointing 7th place finish a year ago. Oddsmakers think the team has a chance to be better as they are listed as the fifth choice to win the Premier League title this season with odds of 10-1 behind Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Looking at the changes that Liverpool made in the off-season it is hard to envision a scenario that has them winning the title in 2013-2014. It might even be hard for Liverpool to be much better than they were a year ago when the finished in seventh place.

Let’s take a look at this year’s Liverpool team and see if there is any chance they can get into the top four this season.

Liverpool signed Simon Mignolet, Kolo Toure, Iago Aspas and Luis Alberto in the off-season but none of the players are impact players. Manager Brendan Rodgers has been looking for players to improve his squad but it is hard to get too excited about any of the signings so far. The team might even have to replace Luis Suarez who is their top scorer.

The team has been fielding offers for Suarez but so far none of the offers have been high enough. "There has been lots of speculation about Luis moving to another club but, as I said, he is very much a Liverpool player. We had an offer that was nowhere near what we value him at. He's one of the top strikers in the world.” Rodgers is aware that Liverpool badly needs Suarez to play at a high level saying, “He has got three years left on his contract. We are looking forward to him helping us get into the Champions League spots”

    EPL Odds
Liverpool is listed at 10-1 at Diamond sportsbook to win the Premier League in 2013-2014. Those odds seem pretty optimistic as Liverpool really doesn’t seem to be on the same level as Manchester United, Manchester City or Chelsea. It might even be wishful thinking to believe they can compete with Arsenal and Tottenham.

Liverpool opens up the season on Saturday, August 17th as they host Stoke City.
