Soccer Betting: It’s round 23 in Bundesliga, with Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg starting to prove they are the Germany elite. Both clubs are at least 10 points clear of third place in the table, and we get to highlight one of them as part of our featured match of the weekend.

Wolfsburg travels east to take on Werder Bremen at Weserstadion, which matches up two of the hottest clubs in current form. Their match is actually the last fixture of the round and will be held at11:30Eastern Time, closing out the weekend.Koln and Bayern kick off the weekendon Friday, with the table leaders strongly favored at home.

There are six more matches taking place on Saturday, all of which have a lopsided feel to them. At the same token, every match down this second half of the campaign will matter even more when we start to draw near the 2015 side of the season.

Even though the schedule seems unbalanced this weekend, the points become more valuable as the weekend carries through, and no one is in a position they are comfortable with. There are clubs fighting for the other European qualification spots that Bayern and Wolfsburg are currently walking away with two of, and 10 other clubs that are only separated by 10 points at the bottom portion of the table.

As the calendar turns to March at the conclusion of Round 23, there will only be 12 fixtures in the campaign, leaving 36 points left on a dangling limb to conquer. Some dreams will turn into piñatas, with candy and bubble gum in defeat, and others will find their gold at the end of the rainbow.

Let's break down the weekend, and see if we can't take a stick to the action on the German pitch!

    Saturday, February 27- 1 Match

    Koln vs Bayern Munich

    3-Way: 1: Koln +2950 Away ; X: +1000 Draw ; 2: Bayern -1150 Home

    Spread: Koln +2.5 -105 ; Bayern -2.5 -115

    Total 3.5: Over -110 ; Under -110

    Analysis and Prediction:

How does the number 14 look to you? Now apply that to the last two times Bayern has taken the pitch in Bundesliga. That does not include the Champions League fixture mid-week, which was predictable in the 0 - 0 freezing cold match at Lviv that evening.

If the only thing that can slow down Bayern is a physical club in the freezing cold, this might be one of those nights, although the high for Saturdayin Munich is listed under 40 degrees F.

Bayern will be playing a lot of football over the next few weeks -- as will much of the upper tier clubs around Europe -- including three running tournaments they are in. They contest the Polka German Cup during the week, and they will play Gladbach in the Cup and meet again in domestic play onMarch 22. Not to mention they have a back leg of the tie with Shaktar in Champions League ahead, and they will have to play that match without Xabi Alonso, who got double booked on the front leg for the German side.

Notice we haven't mentioned much about Koln here, since there is not much to mention. They finally snapped their three game scoreless streak last weekend in a 1 - 1 draw, but they have only 3 draws in their last 4, only a few points above relegation to be honest. What can we do but wonder what effort they have to give the Bundesliga table leaders in their own palace called home.

We call it that because not only over the last few years, but again in this campaign and in 11 home matches, they have 10 wins and are 1 draw away from home perfection. It is assumed that Kolns know they walk in to Munich as heavy underdogs, and the line setters surely agree that they pose no threat to that 0 in the L column against Bayern.

The trick is wondering if they care to beat this club by 4 or more goals to really cash any type of realistic bet options we have on Bayern. What makes this total tough is there are two ways to see Koln's plan. They either push for the first goal and ask for a barn burner up and down match, or they will sit back and park the bus for the first 15-20 minutes to slow down Bayern for at least the beginning portion of the contest.

Let's just take the Over 3.5 here, assuming that Koln manages to slow down the madness of Bayern early in the match, and also assuming we might not see the entire cast for this match, if they get rest along the way. However, it won't matter and Bayern probably won't settle for a 2 - 0 win, so we will try to sneak in that total Over 3.5 at -110.

    Sunday, February 28- 6 Matches

    Freiburg vs Leverkusen

    3-Way: 1: Freiburg +880 Away ; X: +400 Draw ; 2: Leverkusen -285 Home

    Spread: Freiburg +1.5 -125; Leverkusen -1.5 +105

    Total 3: Over +115 ; Under -135

    Analysis and Prediction:

    Schalke vs Borussia Dortmund

    3-Way: 1: Schalke +625 Away ; X: +350 Draw ; 2: Dortmund -215 Home

    Spread: Schalke +1 +125 ; Dortmund -1 -145

    Total 3: Over +115 ; Under -135

Bet on the Bundesliga at BetDSI

    Analysis and Prediction:

Revier Derby, here we come again! These two simply love each other, and want to hug and be besties forever. Oh, sorry wrong article, I must be mistaken them for Schalke and Dortmund at Iduna Park! Huge match for both for so many reasons, if not to take into account the pride factor or the region. Schalke took a 2 - 1 home win on their side of the derby back in September, so you know this one will be intense from the blow of the whistle.

Of course, Dortmund is coming off the Champions League 2 - 1 loss to Juventus in Italy during the week, and Schalke needs to get back in focus, having won only 2 of their last 10 matches in all competitions.

There is obviously no value in Dortmund at either the 3-Way or the handicap as well, but this Over 3 at +115 seems intriguing enough doesn't it?It's the derby! Neither club is going to sit back and hope something happens in this match, and we see 2 - 1 as a more than fair push on the action at the very worst. So the Over 3 with plus money goes on our board this weekend.

    Stuttgart vs Hannover

    3-Way: 1: Stuttgart +235 Away ; X: +245 Draw ; 2: Hannover +120 Home

Spread: Stuttgart Pk +145; Hannover Pk -170

    Total 2.5: Over -110 ; Under -110

    Analysis and Prediction:

Stuttgart travels north to HDI-Arena in an attempt to climb out of last place in the table. Since we came off the winter break, they have 4 losses and a draw in 5 fixtures played thus far. Hannover has seen similar complications out of the break, with 3 losses and only 2 draws to take from their first 5 of the second half, so neither team has a win to show as of yet since we arrived back to the pitch at the end of January. That obviously makes it difficult to predict which club can come out of here with 3 points, since the taste of victory eludes them both week in and week out.

Why bother with a side play, when that 2.5 sits with the total, and if the line setters want to list -110 on either side of the under or over, we will certainly call this to the over side, expecting a 2 - 1 result to cash our tickets. We could see 1 - 1 here at the half, and hopefully find that third goal in the second 45.

    Augsburg vs Hertha Berlin

    3-Way: 1: Augsburg +160 Away ; X: +225 Draw ; 2: Berlin +185 Home

Spread: Augsburg Pk -120 ; Berlin Pk +100

    Total 2.5: Over +125 ; Under -145

    Analysis and Prediction:

This is Augsburg's third straight match against a club under them in the table, and they have not been able to win a single of their last three outings against clubs they should be getting some results against.

Berlin fits the mold of struggling clubs, with a 1 - 4 record since the break, and find themselves headed towards a relegation battle. Both clubs can concentrate on domestic campaigns from here on out, and that should help since just about every other club in Germany is in some kind of domestic cup or European affair. However, if Augsburg continues to struggle against lesser opponents they might find themselves right out of European contention for next year, with four clubs breathing down their neck for that 4th and 5th spot in the table.

Why would the line setters put a price like +125 on this total to go Over? That is a question we could not answer, because we completely disagree, and the Both to Score prop does not point to either side of the action with a -115 each way.

The Over 2.5 goes on our board maybe even twice, since the price is so inviting, and it can surely happen for us with these two clubs fighting for two different reasons.

    Mainz vs Hoffenheim

    3-Way: 1: Mainz +275 Away ; X: +280 Draw ; 2: Hoffenheim -105 Home

    Spread: Mainz +0.5 -115 ; Hoffenheim -0.5 -105

    Total 3: Over +110 ; Under -130

    Analysis and Prediction:

This is another of the matches where some goal scoring can be expected. The line setters tipped their hand a bit by moving it to a straight 3, but still left it dangling at +110, which is attractive.

We have cashed the Mainz Over the last two times out, and we will go right back to the well with pennies in hand, wishing on some goal scoring to help us cash a ticket on the Over 3 at +110. Naturally, we need the fourth goal to come to fully hit the play, but we are not scared to predict we might see a 3 - 2 type of match.

Keep in mind, these two clubs need points badly. Hoffenheim is still trying to catch Europe spots, but yet still only sit eight points out of the third relegation spot. That is what we call double pressure to start looking for positive results. Let them score doing it, is all we ask.

    Hamburger vs Frankfurt

    3-Way: 1: Hamburg +275 Away ; X: +265 Draw ; 2: Frankfurt +100 Home

    Spread: Hamburg +0.5 -120 ; Frankfurt -0.5 +100

    Total 2.5: Over -145 ; Under +125

    Analysis and Prediction:

These two love scoring on each other. Remember, they had a 3 - 2 match in the winter break, played a 2 - 1 match the first meeting of the year in league play, and have given up 75 goals between them through only 22 fixtures.

Sometimes those are the only things you need in coming up with reasons to suggest a play, as those first instincts on how you see a match going down in your head is enough to warrant the action, so that is all the analysis needed in this spot.

Once again, please move the 2.5 straight Over to the Over 2.5 and 3 to get closer to even money on the action.

    Sunday, March 1 - 2Matches

Featured Match Wolfsburg vs Werder Bremen

    3-Way 1x2 Lines:

    Wolfsburg -105

    Bremen +275

    Draw +280

    Wolfsburg -0.5 -105

    Bremen +0.5 -115

    Total 3:

    Over -115

    Under -105

Bet on the Bundesliga at BetDSI

    Analysis and Prediction:

Two amazingly hot clubs face off at Weserstadionon Sunday, and neither club has tasted defeat since we came back from winter break. Each club has 4 wins and a draw to kick off the second half of the campaign, and scoring has certainly been the name of the game. The Wolf has scored 15 goals in the 5 matches they have played since returning to action, and that includes a 4 - 1 drubbing of the best team in the league to get the second half started.

Bremen has 10 goals scored in the same span of time, which puts these two at a combined 25 goals scored.

Why would we expect anything less than another up and down match with plenty of scoring to happen? Once again, we see a 3 on the total, and some sites have as high as -280 on the Both to Score prop bet.

Magnifying glass in hand, we reach down and enlarge the submit bottom on the Over 3 at -115.

    Paderborn vs Moenchengladbach

    3-Way: 1: Paderborn +505 Away ; X: +305 Draw ; 2: Gladbach -170 Home

    Spread: Paderborn +1 -120 ; Gladbach -1 +100

    Total 2.5: Over -115 ; Under -105

    Analysis and Prediction:

Gladbach will have to play Bayern twice over the next couple of weeks, so Paderborn might seem like a vacation compared to what they are about to encounter.

We know Gladbach has mastered the 1 - 0 result lately, and has done a tremendous job behind the ball, but they should not be afraid to open it up against Paderborn at home. Paderborn comes off a 6 - 0 drubbing from Bayern, and we can expect that Gladbach would love to show that they have the ability to do something similar, since they meet with BayernWednesdayin the German Cup.

We are suggesting this Over 2.5 at -115, which is rare for Gladbach, but none of those matches were against the Paderborn defense, who have given up 41 goals this year.
