German Bundesliga Week 34 Augsburg vs Moenchengladbach

Soccer Betting: The final weekend of the Bundesliga campaign is this weekend, and there is still a handful of clubs that have work left to do. Bayern Munich clinched the title early, and has also gained entry to Champions League group stage. Congratulations should certainly go to Munich keeper Manuel Neuer, who claimed the 2014 European Athlete of the Year, and 2014 World Athlete of the Yearthis Wednesday.

Wolfsburg and Moenchengladbach will be joining Bayern Munich in Europe's largest club competition, and the only thing left to decide among the two clubs is who takes second and third. They are only separated by two points with one match to go, but however they finish, it is all just paperwork.

Bayer Leverkusen has secured Champions League status as well, although their 4th position in the table comes with entry to the qualification rounds of the tournament.

It’s likely that Borussia Dortmund's loss this weekend to Wolfsburg did in their chances to earn a European berth through league play. They could still steal the 6th spot currently held by Augsburg, if they manage a tie in the table, as the goal differential will be the tie breaker. Dortmund and Wolfsburg will meet again onMay 30, as the two will face off in the German Cup finals. If Dortmund can prevail, they will earn their way to European club competition, regardless.

With only four points separating them, six clubs at the bottom of the table are all still trying to avoid relegation to 2.Bundesliga. Freiburg, Hannover and Stuttgart all earned three points last weekend, leaving Hamburg and Paderborn currently holding the bottom two positions. Hamburg is the only club in the history of Bundesliga to never be relegated, making this weekend's match with Schalke even more important.

So much left to discuss on the pitch, so let's break down the final weekend of the campaign in Bundesliga.

Saturday, May 23- All 9 Matches

    Featured Match Augsburg vs Moenchengladbach

    3-Way 1x2 Lines:

    Augsburg +515

    Gladbach -190

    Draw +345

    Augsburg +1 -105

    Gladbach -1 -115

    Total 3:

    Over -110

    Under -110

    Analysis and Prediction:

Augsburg continued their recently inconsistent results once again last weekend, losing 2 - 1 at home to Hannover, and they could potentially give away their Europa League qualification spot to Dortmund after all. If Dortmund takes three points from Werder Bremen, and Augsburg loses this match, it will come down to goal differential, and Dortmund has the edge in that category entering the final round of the campaign.

Gladbach has Champions League group stage sealed, but could still take the runner-up position in the table with a win and a Wolfsburg loss to Koln. Augsburg has to make a game of this or else their entire season will result in a 7th place finish that simply earns them another term next year. To let the work they have done disappear on the final day of the season would be the lasting impression they take to next year, so hopefully they come out and make this a battle.

We are suggesting the Gladbach -1 at -115, simply because the price is right for one thing, but they have finished so well and with only one loss at home this year, that this is the moment to thank the fans for their support this campaign.

    Wolfsburg vs Koln

    3-Way: 1: Wolfsburg -115 Away ; X: +290 Draw ; 2: Koln +300 Home

    Spread: Wolfsburg -0.5 -115 ; Koln +0.5 -105

    Total 3: Over -105 ; Under -115

Bet on the Bundesliga at BetDSI

    Analysis and Prediction:

Wolfsburg is in the driver’s seat when it comes to securing the two position in the table, but they will be taking part in Champions League either way, and group stage entry is theirs for the 2015-16 campaign.Playing a Koln club who has nothing left to do but look to next year is likely an advantage, although we know anything can happen in German football, and it usually does.

If Koln plans on giving Wolfsburg a match, they better be finding the net, because we can assume Wolfsburg will gladly go out and finish the campaign on a good note, while also having the German Cup final on deckMay 30.

Let's suggest one last Wolfsburg Over 3 this year at a reasonable -105. We have played the Over many times in Wolfsburg matches since we started the league previews here at BetDSI, so let's hope we see one more.

    Werder Bremen vs Borussia Dortmund

    3-Way: 1: Bremen +925 Away ; X: +550 Draw ; 2: Dortmund -375 Home

    Spread: Bremen +1.5 +125 ; Dortmund -1.5 -145

    Total 3.5: Over -120 ; Under +100

    Analysis and Prediction:

Bremen was another club this year that served us well when they went on their second half run that was almost good enough to catch a spot in Europe. The loss last weekend to Gladbach was untimely, as they could have been on 46 points tied with Augsburg, which would have made this match an entirely different discussion.

Dortmund can now be that club that catches Augsburg, and the goal differential in their favor at the moment could be the difference. If Augsburg loses, and Dortmund takes these three points, that will essentially give Dortmund the spot, because the goal differential is already in their favor.

Naturally, Jurgen Klopp wants to leave Dortmund with an exclamation mark, but to see a handicap +1.5 at +125 on Werder Bremen in this spot, is almost too much to ignore. Bremen may not be going anywhere, but we highly doubt they are simply going to lay down and give Dortmund a clear path, so let's see if Bremen finishes the season with a fight.

    Bayer Leverkusen vs Frankfurt

    3-Way: 1: Leverkusen -140 Away ; X: +325 Draw ; 2: Frankfurt +350 Home

    Spread: Leverkusen -0.5 -140 ; Frankfurt +0.5 +120

    Total 3.5: Over -105 ; Under -115

Bet on the Bundesliga at BetDSI

    Analysis and Prediction:

As we mentioned in the opening, Leverkusen is through to the Champions League qualifying rounds, and there is no left work to do. Frankfurt is also playing to simply finish out the campaign, looking to next year.

We simply do not understand why this total is 3.5, because these two are not going to close to that. This will be a 2 - 1 match at best, and we think the line setters dropped the ball on this one.

Take the Under 3.5 at -115, and let's see if we can again catch the line setters overestimating a final match that has no significance at all for either club.

    Mainz vs Bayern Munich

    3-Way: 1: Mainz +1050 Away ; X: +575 Draw ; 2: Bayern -415 Home

    Spread: Mainz +2 -110 ; Bayern -2 -110

    Total 3.5: Over -125 ; Under +105

    Analysis and Prediction:

Now this total at 3.5 makes some sense, since Bayern is likely frustrated from losing all three matches they have played since clinching the title. Mainz we know has enough offensive talent to also represent themselves admirably, so we are simply going to chase some goal scoring here, although the -125 is not exactly all that valuable.

    Over 3.5 it is.

    Schalke vs Hamburger

    3-Way: 1: Schalke +190 Away ; X: +265 Draw ; 2: Hamburg +135 Home

Spread: Schalke Pk +110 ; Hamburg Pk -130

    Total 3: Over -110 ; Under -110

Bet on the Bundesliga at BetDSI

    Analysis and Prediction:

Hamburger has the last distinction of being able to say they have never been relegated to second tier, so we can assume that they are going to leave their boots, blood and sweat all over the Volksparkstadion pitch.

Schalke has Europe League group stage entry in hand as we enter the weekend, but a hiccup and a win from Augsburg could slide them back to the qualification rounds instead.

If the line setters want us to decide which -110 to line to chase on the total, then the Over 3 is the option we will go with. Despite the recent struggles from Schalke up front, and lack of production all campaign from Hamburg, a draw here would do nothing. So, hopefully someone goes out and finds that third goal to make it 2 - 1, and if a push is the worst thing we get, that is okay with us.

    Freiburg vs Hannover

    3-Way: 1: Freiburg +370 Away ; X: +250 Draw ; 2: Hannover -120 Home

    Spread: Freiburg +0.5 +100 ; Hannover -0.5 -120

    Total 3: Over -110 ; Under -110

    Analysis and Prediction:

Let's just cut to the chase with this match. The winner is safe, and the loser is likely headed down to second tier. Now that is not written in stone, as a draw for each club might also be enough, although the next match we will be discussing pits two clubs facing the same situation.

As you look below this match, Stuttgart and Paderborn are facing off as well this weekend, which puts four of the bottom six clubs all facing must-win scenarios. Of course, citing must-wins for all of these four clubs started months ago, and that really never changed anything, so with one weekend left, what makes this any different?

The two teams have 28 losses between them, while combining for 100 goals allowed, so figuring out who could win the last match of the season, is as hard as it was back in 2014 when the campaign started, or after the half way winter break.

Take the home team in this one, since Freiburg has two wins away from home all season, and so many people thinking that beating Bayern last weekend has any significance.

Hannover -120 on the 3-Way line is the play we offer.

    Stuttgart vs Paderborn

    3-Way: 1: Stuttgart +100 Away ; X: +305 Draw ; 2: Paderborn +240 Home

    Spread: Stuttgart -0.5 +100 ; Paderborn +0.5 -120

    Total 3: Over -135 ; Under +115

Bet on the Bundesliga at BetDSI

    Analysis and Prediction:

Like we said, this match and the Freiburg / Hannover result will ultimately decide who stays and who goes.

You simply cannot give up 63 goals and survive in Germany, and Paderborn never figured out how to stop anyone all campaign.

Why settle for this total at 3, when you can move it 3 and 3.5 and get a lovely +110 or so for your troubles.

There is going to be no less than four goals in this match, so take advantage of it by moving the total up to 3 and 3.5 on the handicap line at +110.

    Hertha Berlin vs Hoffenheim

    3-Way: 1: Berlin +280 Away ; X: +260 Draw ; 2: Hoffenheim +100 Home

    Spread: Berlin +0.5 -120 ; Hoffenheim -0.5 +100

    Total 3: Over -110 ; Under -110

    Analysis and Prediction:

Tough to forget the first meeting of the campaign between these two, when Hoffenheim walked in to Berlin and poured in five goals. We don't expect that type of performance this weekend, however Berlin simply has no goal scorers, and have one goal in their last five outings.

Hoffenheim is the final play of the campaign for us here at BetDSI, offering the 3-Way line at even money +100.
