Soccer Betting: With Champions League and Europa League getting their group stages underway this week, seven German clubs find themselves competing among Europe's best between the two competitions. Three of the four German clubs in Champions League came away with matchday one victories, while Gladbach was the one team unable to find success in their opening match in Group D, carrying over their league hardships into European competition.

The fifth round kicks offon Fridaywith Mainz hosting Hoffenheim at Coface Arena, and our featured match of the weekend comes among the fiveSaturdaymatches, where Wolfsburg will play host to Berlin at Volkswagen Arena. The two clubs find themselves in the top seven of the table entering the weekend, while Wolfsburg remains one of three clubs to have not lost in the early campaign.

ThreeSundaymatches wrap up the round, with Borsussia Dortmund putting their perfect 4 - 0 - 0 record on the line against Leverkusen at Signal Iduna Park.

Let's see what we can expect from the nine matches taking place on the German pitch this weekend.

    Friday September 18- 1 Match

    Mainz vs Hoffenheim

    3-Way: 1: Mainz +120 Home ; X: +250 Draw ; 2: Hoffenheim +235 Away

    Spread: Mainz -0.5 +120 ; Hoffenheim +0.5 -140

    Total 2.5: Over -135 ; Under +115

    Analysis and Prediction:

Hoffenheim has obviously gotten off to a rough start with only one point through four fixtures of the new campaign, which came from a scoreless draw in the third round against Bundesliga newcomers Darmstadt.

Last weekend, Hoffenheim suffered a 3 - 1 defeat at the hands of Werder Bremen, which was seemingly coming down to a draw, until two extra time goals were scored by Anthony Ujah and alternate captain Zllatko Junuzovic.

Mainz was attempting to win their third straight match last weekend, but a road loss to Schalke leveled their record to two wins and two losses on the campaign.

We see one of these clubs coming away with a 2 - 1 win, and the line setters seemingly agree while offering a -135 on the Over 2.5, so it is the direction we are forced to go, so the Over 2.5 is the play we recommend here.

    Analysis and Prediction:

Wolfsburg came away with 1 - 0 victory in their Champions League group stage opening match against CSKA Moscow, and are playing much differently than what we are accustomed to seeing this year. Usually, Wolfsburg is a scoring machine who plows out overs like clockwork, but in this campaign they have been concentrating on the defensive side of the ball. It has propelled them to a third place spot in the early going in league play, and could be what gets them to advance to the round of 16 in European competition if they can keep that style of play going.

Berlin has gotten off to a nice start in league play, with a 2 - 1 - 1 record. Their only loss was to top-seeded Dortmund, who are a perfect 4 - 0 - 0 thus far.

We are going to hope that some offense comes out of Volkswagen Arena this weekend, and we see a little more of the Wolfsburg we expect to see when they are home, since they have scored five of their six goals in the two home outings.

The Over 2.5 at a manageable -125 is the offer we suggest in our featured match of the weekend in Bundesliga.

    Koln vs Moenchengladbach

    3-Way: 1: Koln +140 Home ; X: +240 Draw ; 2: Gladbach +200 Away

Spread: Koln Pk -140 ; Gladbach Pk +120

    Total 2.5: Over -110 ; Under -110

    Analysis and Prediction:

Moenchengladbach is struggling, and that is an understatement. With only two goals scored in league play, while coming off a 3 - 0 defeat to Spanish side Sevilla in their Champions League affair, nothing seems to be going their way. Gladbach likely deserved a better result against Sevilla, as the score doesn't really show their effort, but the bottom line is results and they are simply not there yet.

Koln was looking strong until last weekend's debacle against Frankfurt, allowing six goals in an ugly loss on the road to bring their record to 2 - 1 - 1 with 7 points.

This could be the ugliest match of the weekend, but we are still going to suspect that we will see goals, since neither club has really had any success stopping anyone this year, so the Over 2.5 again makes our board here at -110.

    Hamburger vs Frankfurt

    3-Way: 1: Hamburg +150 Home ; X: +260 Draw ; 2: Frankfurt +175 Away

Spread: Hamburg Pk -115; Frankfurt Pk -105

    Total 3: Over +100 ; Under -120

Bet on the Bundesliga at BetDSI

    Analysis and Prediction:

It may seem like a bit of a broken record through our first four predictions offered thus far, but between Hamburg and Frankfurt, which of the two do you see as a defensive stalwart?

Augsburg had a Europa League encounter with Athletic Bilbaoon Thursday, but we are not privy to that result before handing in this week's previews. Luckily, they have Hannover at home this weekend and there isn't much to fear there. Yet again, we will offer this total, and expect no less than a 2 - 1 result as we cash this Over 2.5 at +100.
