NASCAR Odds - Irwin Tools Night Race at Bristol on Saturday

  • Wednesday, August 24th, 2011

    Irwin Tools Night Race Betting

Kyle Busch will look to lengthen his points lead on Saturday night in the Irwin Tools Night Race at Bristol. Busch is the favorite in NASCAR odds at our sportsbook and it is easy to see why. He leads the NASCAR points standing and has won four of the last five races at Bristol.

    Favorites

The two favorites for Saturday’s race that can be seen on ABC are Kyle Busch and Jimmie Johnson. They have combined to win the last five races at Bristol. Busch is a slight favorite with Johnson the second choice. Also with single-digit odds are Carl Edwards and Denny Hamlin. Just outside of the top four are Kevin Harvick, Tony Stewart and Greg Biffle. Not to be forgotten are Matt Kenseth, Kurt Busch and Jeff Gordon who each are listed with odds of less than 20-1.

It is hard to get past Busch and Johnson this week since they have combined to win the last five races at Bristol. If you are looking for someone with a little bit of value then Matt Kenseth could be your guy. He has finished 10th, 5th, 10th and 4th in his last four races at Bristol. Carl Edwards doesn’t have as much value but he has won the Bristol night race twice. Kurt Busch might have some value but it is hard to take him since he has not won at Bristol since 2006.

    Longshot

Maybe, just maybe, this is the week that Dale Earhnhardt Jr. finally gets a win. Bristol has been a really good track for Jr. as since 2004 his average finish is 8.5.

    Go-Against Drivers

You will see Denny Hamlin listed as one of the favorites to win on Saturday in NASCAR odds but how can you like him? He has never won at Bristol and his recent races have been a disaster. There is even talk coming out of the Hamlin camp about some of the advantages of missing the Chase. It sounds like he is already giving up on the season. Tony Stewart is also talking like his season is over and he hasn’t won at Bristol in a decade. You can also go against Joey Logano who has an average finish of 28th at Bristol and AJ Allmendinger whose average finish is 30th.
