NASCAR Tums Fast Relief 500 Betting

It is getting to be crunch time in the Chase with just four races remaining. This week the attention turns to Martinsville for the Tums Fast Relief 500 on Sunday. Jimmie Johnson is a slight favorite in NASCAR betting at 5-1 but five other drivers have single-digit betting odds.

    Sunday on ESPN

It has been either Jimmie Johnson or Denny Hamlin winning this race in six of the last seven years. Hamlin has won the last two years while Johnson won it the previous three seasons. This year’s race on Sunday that can be seen on ESPN will be huge in the Chase for the Sprint Cup as there are just four races left. There have been two races each year at Martinsville since 1950 and a total of 125 Sprint Cup races at the track overall. Starting up front is definitely important as the pole sitter has won the race 19 times and one of the top two starting spots has won the race 34 times.

    Jimmie Johnson 5-1

J.J. sits 50 points out of the top spot in the Chase so this is almost a must-win race for him on Sunday. The good news for Jimmie is that in 19 career starts at Martinsville he has finished outside the top ten just twice.

    Denny Hamlin 6-1

You can make a case for Hamlin winning on Sunday simply because he has won this race the past two years but at 6-1 he may be overvalued in NASCAR odds at the online sportsbook. He is in 11th place in the points and has virtually no chance to win the Chase with just four races remaining.

    Jeff Gordon 7-1

Johnson and Hamlin have dominated recently at Martinsville but don’t count out Jeff Gordon. He has two wins and eight top 10 finishes in his last nine starts at Martinsville. He has 11 finishes in the top five which is more than any other driver at Martinsville.

    Carl Edwards 15-1

We have to mention Edwards in NASCAR betting since in the Chase he leads Matt Kenseth by 14 points but Martinsville is not his favorite place. He has never won at the track and has only led 14 laps in his career and he has just one top-five finish.
