Even though Vettel is favored this weekend, McLaren has won the last two races in Formula One. Vettel has an 85-point lead in the driver’s standings and Red Bull leads McLaren by 103 points in the constructor’s standings. This week in Belgium will decide whether the recent momentum gained by McLaren before the summer break means anything. Spa is one of the few tracks where Red Bull hasn’t had any success. That could change on Sunday with Vettel looking to get back into the win column. Jenson Button said Vettel has no pressure with such a big lead. “He’s already won the World Championship, which is very important. You don’t feel the pressure so much, when you’ve already done it.” Button said, “It’s not the pressure other people put on you, it’s the pressure you put on yourself to win.”
Pole Winner
Normally in F1 betting you take the driver who wins the pole and head to the window. That is not always a good choice though for the Belgium Grand Prix. Only two times this decade has the pole sitter won the race. Only three current drivers have won at Spa, Michael Schumacher, Felipe Massa and Lewis Hamilton. Ferrari has 12 wins at the track, McLaren 11, Williams 3, Mercedes 1 and Renault 1.
