UFC on FX-1 Main Card
Jim Miller -180 vs. Melvin Guillard
This should be an interesting contrast as Miller will be looking to get the fight to the mat while Guillard will hope to get into a striking battle. Miller has won 20 fights in his career, 11 by submission. Guillard has 29 wins in his career, 19 of which have come by knockout.
Duane Ludwig -130 vs. Josh Neer
The co-main event on the card could be the best fight of the night. Neer is a veteran fighter with 32 career wins while Ludwig has 21 wins in his career. Both of these fighters are well rounded although Ludwig would prefer to keep the fight standing. That will probably be fine with Neer which is why this fight should be exciting. Neer would be better suited to get the fight to the mat but he may just prefer to slug it out with Ludwig. That would probably be a mistake as Ludwig is the better striker.
Mike Easton -335 vs. Jared Papazian
This is a battle between Easton who is 11-1 in his career vs. Papazian who is 14-6 with one no contest in his career. This really looks like a mismatch as Papazian is filling in for the injured Ken Stone. Papazian has won eight of his last nine fights but he is taking a big step up in competition going against Easton. This is a really big price on Easton, perhaps too big, but it is hard to make any case for Papazian.
Pat Barry -165 vs. Christian Morecraft
This is likely an elimination bout with the loser finding a pink slip in the UFC. Barry is 6-4 in his career while Morecraft is 7-2. Barry has some striking talent but he has no submission defense. If Morecraft shows some intelligence he would get this fight to the mat quickly where he can get the win. This is a fight that Morecraft can win and at plus money he is worth a shot vs. the UFC on FX betting odds.
