UFC 143 Betting - Riddle vs Martinez

UFC 143 in Las Vegas on Saturday night has five fights on the main card and six on the preliminary card. The headline fight is the one between Nick Diaz and Carlos Condit but we want to focus on the six fights on the preliminary card. Here is a look at each of those fights, the UFC odds at Diamond Sportsbook and our UFC 143 picks.

    UFC 143 Preliminary Card

Dustin Poirier -450 vs. Max Holloway

This is a total mismatch as Holloway is a late replacement with very little experience. Taking Poirier is the only way to go here.

Matt Riddle -345 vs. Henry Martinez

This is another big price and another likely win by the favorite. Riddle is coming off two straight losses and badly needs a win. This is not the slam dunk that the previous fight is so at this price we’ll pass.

Edwin Figueroa -150 vs. Alex Caceres

Caceres is just 6-4 in his career and it is somewhat surprising he is not more of an underdog in this fight. Figueroa does a lot of things very well and should have the advantage over Caceres. This fight figures to be exciting as Caceres always seems to go for a big knockout and Figueroa rarely backs away from a striking duel. We’ll lay the small price and look for Figueroa to get the win.

Matt Brown -310 vs. Chris Cope

This is a bout between the experienced Matt Brown and the inexperienced Chris Cope. There is no question that Brown has a better resume than Cope but this price is really high. Neither of these two is really very good and at this price we almost have to take a shot with the underdog Cope in UFC 143 picks.

Stephen Thompson -260 vs. Dan Stittgen

This is the debut for both Thompson and Stittgen in the UFC. Thompson has the “Wonderboy” nickname and he is unbeaten in his career. He has Georges St. Pierre on his side and that is good enough for me. This is not a huge play as Stittgen has some submission skills that could be a concern for Thompson.

Rafael Natal -215 vs. Michael Kuiper

Natal is 13-3-1 in his career while Kuiper is 11-0. Kuiper hasn’t faced anyone as good as Natal so this is a step up in competition. Natal will probably get the win but at odds of 2-1 we’ll pass. Don’t forget to check out the BetDSI Channel on youtube today for more MMA betting news.
