    UFC 143 Winners

UFC 143 on Saturday night was headlined by Carlos Condit defeating Nick Diaz to win the interim welterweight title. Diaz was the MMA betting favorite but Condit got the unanimous decision. Here is a look at all of the winners and losers from UFC 143.

    Main Card Results

Carlos Condit wins by unanimous Decision over Nick Diaz

While the judges went with Condit, not everyone was convinced that he deserved a unanimous decision. Diaz was very upset with the result saying,

"I'm not going to accept this as a loss," Diaz said. "I think I'm done with this MMA stuff, I don't think they can pay me enough to do this again." The win by Condit sets him up for a title shot against Georges St. Pierre. "It will be an honor to fight St. Pierre," Condit said. "Georges is a guy I've looked up to since I was a kid, before the UFC."

Ed Herman wins by submission vs. Clifford Starks in Round 2

The first round went to Starks and perhaps he was overconfident as he got caught in Round 2 by Herman and it was over.

Ranan Barao wins by unanimous decision vs. Scott Jorgensen

This was domination by Barao who was far too quick and too talented for Jorgensen. Barao should be in line for a title shot soon.

Josh Koscheck wins by split decision vs. Mike Pierce

The crowd didn’t think that Koscheck got the win as they booed after this result was announced. This fight was very close and could have been scored either way.

Fabricio Werdum wins by unanimous decision vs. Roy Nelson

This was a dominating MMA betting win by Werdum in a fight that was kept off the mat for the most part. Werdum landed a lot of powerful knees from a clinch in the first round and he controlled the fight throughout. I'm known for my ground game but I train for everything," Werdum said. "Roy has a great right hand but later in the fight, I could tell he was getting tired in the clinch and I felt strong from then on."

    Preliminary Card

Stephen Thompson wins by KO vs. Dan Stittgen in Round 1

Rafael Natal wins by unanimous decision vs. Michael Kuiper

Matthew Riddle wins by split decision vs. Henry Martinez

Matt Brown wins by TKO vs. Chris Cope in Round 2

Edwin Figueroa wins by split decision vs. Alex Caceres

Dustin Poirier wins by submission vs. Max Holloway in Round 1.

The Fight of the Night award went to the bout between Nelson and Werdum, the knockout of the night went to Stephen Thompson while the submission of the night went to Dustin Poirier.
