Sharks vs. Blues
The Sharks were able to win against Nashville thanks to a potent power play and excellent goaltending. The Blues were able to get past Dallas thanks to a physical game that wore down the Stars. That might be more difficult considering St. Louis needed seven games to get past the Blackhawks and Stars in the first two rounds. The Sharks were a losing team in the regular season on home ice but they have turned things around in the playoffs as they are 5-1 at SAP Center. The Blues are just 3-4 at home in the playoffs. The Sharks average 2.9 goals per game and allowing 2.5 per game while the Blues score 2.7 goals per game and allowing 2.4 per contest.
The teams met three times this season with San Jose taking two of three. The road team won each game with San Jose winning 3-1 and 6-3 in St. Louis while the Blues won 1-0 in San Jose. The Sharks are 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in St. Louis. The Sharks are 10-4 in their last 14 road games. The Sharks are 1-10 in their last 11 Conference Finals games. The Blues are 23-8 in their last 31 vs. the Pacific. The Blues are 1-4 in their last 5 Conference Finals games. The Over is 5-0-4 in the Sharks last 9 overall. The Over is 2-0-4 in the Blues last 6 home games. The Over is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in St. Louis.
This should be an excellent series as the teams look evenly matched but I think the Sharks have the edge in scoring depth and in goal so I will take San Jose to win this series.
