NHL Betting - San Jose Sharks

The San Jose Sharks continue their long nine-game road trip as they visit the Washington Capitals on Monday night. The Sharks have owned the Capitals recently, winning nine of the last ten games. Let’s take a look at this game that will be shown on the NBC Sports Network and make our hockey picks.

    Road Warriors

The Sharks are in the second game of a nine-game road trip that will take them a total of 7,750 total miles. San Jose has to do this trip every year as a tennis tournament takes away their home arena each February. "Sometimes they're easier than going out on a three-game trip," coach Todd McLellan said, "You know you're gone for a long time, and then you settle in. You find a routine on the road." The problem for San Jose on this trip is that they play three sets of back-to-back games, the first of which is Tuesday night. Washington was in St. Louis last night for a tough game against the Blues. The Sharks have been a team to bet under the total on the road as before Sunday’s game against the Blues, 14 of their 23 road games had gone under.

    Capitals 19-9 at Home

Washington has been a good home team this season. They won’t have much of an edge in terms of rest in this game as Washington had to play yesterday in New York. Washington has been a tough team to figure out this season as at times they look like a playoff team while other times they look lost. The Capitals have gone under the total in 15 of their home games this season.

    Series Trends

We mentioned earlier that the Sharks have won nine of the last ten in this series. Six of those games went under the total. Not only has San Jose dominated the Capitals, they have won eight of the last ten in Washington. Four of the last five meetings in D.C. have gone under the NHL odds at the sportsbook.

    Hockey Picks

We will follow the trends on this one and go with San Jose and also take the game under the total. Make sure to visit the BetDSI Facebook page today for more sports betting news.
