The defending Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins are going to get the TV spotlight this weekend and they host the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday afternoon and then visit the Washington Capitals on Sunday. The game on Saturday that can be seen on the NHL Network has the Bruins favored in NHL lines at Diamond Sportsbook.
Saturday Matinee
The Bruins are one of the teams in the NHL that will play matinees from time to time so it is not strange to see a daytime game in Boston. The NHL Network will be televising the game and based on how the Penguins and Bruins are playing it should be a good matchup.
The Bruins have the top offense in the NHL and their defense is very good as well as they ranked 4th in the league in fewest goals allowed. Most people don’t think of the Bruins as a great offensive team but so far this season, Boston is leading the league in goals. The Penguins also have solid numbers as they are 7th in the league in goals scored and 10th in fewest goals allowed. Pittsburgh has been getting outstanding play recently from Evgeni Malkin who has taken over as the best player in the NHL this season. This is actually not a bad spot for Pittsburgh as they have had two days off since their eight-game winning streak was ended in Toronto on Wednesday.

The Penguins have won six of the last ten meetings against Boston with six of those games going under the total. The teams played in early December in Pittsburgh and the Bruins came away with a 3-1 win. This has been a road team series as Pittsburgh has won six of the last ten in Boston with the last four meetings going under the total.
It is tough to go against the Bruins at home but the Penguins have the ability to win this matchup.
