  Capitals Struggling

  There is a real chance that the Washington Capitals won’t make the playoffs this season. They are trailing the Florida Panthers in the Southeast Division and the coaching change the Capitals made earlier this season did not work. It is now very obvious that Bruce Boudreau was not the problem as he is now turning around the Anaheim Ducks while the Capitals are struggling. Dale Hunter has had no answers as the head coach for Washington and it could be that Washington doesn’t turn it around this season. It is almost shocking that the Capitals are doing so poorly as they were considered one of the favorites in Stanley Cup odds before the season began. The Capitals have been pretty good at home but they have been poor on the road and that has been the main problem.

  Lightning Magic is Gone

  The Lightning are doing no better than the Capitals this season, in fact, they have been worse. Tampa has no real chance of making the playoffs and they figure to be sellers at the trading deadline. Tampa Bay still has Steven Stamkos which makes them dangerous but the team is terrible on defense as they are last in the league in goals allowed. No team that is last on defense is going to make the playoffs unless their offense is fantastic and Tampa Bay’s is not.

  Game Notes & NHL Predictions

  Tampa Bay has won six of the last ten in this series with seven of the last ten going over the online NHL betting total at the offshore sports book. The teams have split their last ten meetings at Tampa Bay. This should be a high scoring game as the Capitals and Lightning can both score and neither one plays any defense.
