NHL Odds - Anaheim Ducks at Minnesota Wild

    NHL Betting - Anaheim Ducks

The Minnesota Wild hosts the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday night in a game that can be seen on the NBC Sports Network. Both teams are on the outside of the top eight in the Western Conference playoff race and badly need to win this contest. The Wild are slight favorites in NHL odds at the online sportsbook.

    Long Road Trip for Anaheim

The Ducks are in the midst of their longest road trip of the season. They started with a 2-1 loss at Detroit and then played Columbus on Sunday night. By the time this eight-game trip is over the Ducks will know if they have any chance of making the playoffs. The game against the Wild is simply a must win for the Ducks as Minnesota is ahead of Anaheim in the standings. The problem for Anaheim is that heading into the game at Columbus the Ducks had just six road victories this season. What has also been happening in Anaheim’s road games is that they are going under the total with 17 games staying under the NHL odds.

    Wild 13-12 at Home

It seems like a long time ago that Minnesota was leading the Western Conference in points. The great start to the season is long gone for Minnesota and now they are fighting just to stay in playoff contention. Part of the problem has been their home record which stands at just 13-12. Minnesota’s offense is second worst in the NHL and while their defense is solid at 9th in the league it doesn’t make up for their lack of offense.

    Game Notes

The Wild have won six of the last ten in the series against Anaheim. At home, the Wild are 7-3 in the last ten meetings. Anaheim did squeak out a 3-2 win at Minnesota earlier this season. Three of the last five in the series at Minnesota have gone over the total.

    NHL Picks

We’ll take a shot with the Ducks at plus money on the road in this one. Minnesota is a team going nowhere and they haven’t even been that great on home ice. Follow BetDSI on Twitter for more sports betting news and information.
